Like all Republic airplanes, they would rather go down than up. He had a story about just missing trees and vehicles and scaring the poo out of the people in the vehicles. Ooh! In the north of the county, we have stands of pines 50 feet tall, that grow for miles, right up to the road. I have had F-16s scare the snot out of me, when I was driving down a county road, and they came screaming over after dropping. With 2 engines providing twice the noise, I would think that an F/A 18 would be twice as scary.
