Lex, I read "Scream of Eagles", the story of Top Guns birth, and "On Yankee Station". These are two of my favorite books, and when in discussion via IRC with some of my gaming friends (who fancy themselves experts) I have on many occasions drug out these books to beat over some BVR missile loving fool who thought a gun was no longer needed.

"Both of my readers would probably have immediately said good night and walked away."

Well, I don't know about the other guy, but I'm looking into a plane ticket and a few nights in Helsinki. You never know... might be a national gymnastics meet in town.

Re: swastikas as good luck sign. Some early Boy Scouting publications (American) had swastikas on them, being a sign of good luck. Until the Nazis ruined it, the swastika was a common and popular icon in western thought, much the way pineapples have come to symbolize hospitality.

In eastern thought, consider the use and fondness by Asians (of all kinds) for dragons, and the colors red and green, which signify good luck, good fortune, house blessings, etc.

What fun!
An appropriate response to the gymnast, as you are running away is, "Kiitos, paljon. Ei kiitos!!!" (Thanks, but no thanks)Of course, she may have pursued you for such language.

You were lucky to get away. With a 32:1 kill ratio, she might have made a POW of you, and you could have lost everything. Her wingperson took a shot, also. Very hazardous...

This is why I will not travel to Northern Europe.
