Been turning something over in my head – something that Smash said last week, after we’d met for the first time (in meatspace, anway) in front of MCAS Miramar. He wrote that I “… may be the highest ranking active duty milblogger.” You know that might well be true – I don’t know of anyone senior to me. But what’s the significance of this?

    I once knew a young soldiers wife who thought the General Officer parking spaces at the commissary was for any “general” officer, 0-1 to 0-whatever. I liked her definition, I was an 0-3.

  • As a young ensign posted to Replacement Air Group training at NAS North Island in the early 1980s I was amazed and delighted to discover a prime parking place at the “O” club designated “Any Ensign”. It was just next to the Admiral and Base CO places!
