What ever happend to that device that made it uncomfortably hot for those in range, and could easily suppress crowds or those who we were unsure if they were threats or not?

Untactical and not yet practical!

Ground warfare and insurgencies will not be won with hi-tech or any gimmick or specific tactic(s). Any enemy willing to commit suicide will adapt & prevail against all such devices, Buck Rogers included. No, this insurgency will be won, really won, by the ability to do what we do now with what we have. Our soldiers and Marines are motivated and want to win. Why won’t we let them? I know this is not PC, but what we lack is more measured brutality and the unvarnished violence to sustain.

But that won’t happen…yet. Therefore we wait..for another 9-11 event to wake up that % of the population that don’t get it and keep our hands tied…..

Sorry, the sentiment expressed above is always right at the surface…

Uhhh, that’s very nice…

But I’d rather have something capable of blowing a person in half, and use the threat so implied, instead of something that the bad guys are gonna think, “I shall shoot at them, and I don’t have to worry about getting killed…”
