Ah, well. It was a silly contest anyway.

Targets of Opportunityblog advertising is good for you Credo"Sign on, young man, and sail with me. The stature of our homeland is no more than the measure of ourselves. Our job is to keep her free. Our will is to keep the torch of freedom burning for all. To this solemn purpose we call on the young, the brave, the strong, and the free. Heed my call, Come to the sea. Come Sail with me." -- John Paul Jones "Pardon him, Theodotus; he is a barbarian, and thinks that the customs of his tribe and island are the laws of nature" --George Bernard Shaw, "Caesar and Cleopatra" "And those who were seen dancing were thought to be insane by those who could not hear the music."--Friedrich Nietzsche "A kind Providence has placed in our breasts a hatred of the unjust and cruel, in order that we may preserve ourselves from cruelty and injustice. They who bear cruelty, are accomplices in it. The pretended gentleness which excludes that charitable rancour, produces an indifference which is half an approbation. They never will love where they ought to love, who do not hate where they ought to hate."--Edmund Burke “You say that it is your custom to burn widows. Very well. We also have a custom: when men burn a woman alive, we tie a rope around their necks and we hang them. Build your funeral pyre; beside it, my carpenters will build a gallows. You may follow your custom. And then we will follow ours.”--General Sir Charles Napier "Μολὼν λαβέ" -- Leonidas "Blogito Ergo Sum" -- Neptunus Lex Amazon AssociateFor the Effort!Winnar!![]() Subscribe![]() CategoriesPagesTagsacademy

The problem was that voting started with not everyone nominated. You couldn’t vote twice. So if someone went to vote and their mil-blogger wasn’t on there, but showed up later, that mil-blogger didn’t get their vote.
‘sno problem, Bou. I’ll struggle on here in anonymity, but at least I have my friends to keep me warm
I had the same problem, Bou. But since John is my blogfather… he got my vote.
At least I’m still here to “keep you warm”, Lex.
Not about to match wits with you, AFSis – nor any of your were-brood either. Been down that road before, and never did like being the first to cry off, no more!
(Was going to say “cross swords” rather than “match wits” but it wouldn’t be fair I don’t think.)
*cracks himself up*
I don’t think many of us knew of that poll going on!
By the way, you’re up to 10 votes.
Regardless though, your blog is like a small band you love. You want more people to know about it, and you’re glad when new people enjoy it, but you don’t want them to be so big that the whole world does and before you know it they are sell-outs.
Ah, a terrible analogy, but still, your blog is the only one I read regularly when I have free time.
Skipper,
I agree with Dan. I certainly didn’t know about the voting and if you look at the crowd PowerLine, BlackFive and Captain’s Quarters generates, there is now way they can know each commenter.
Unlike Dan, I do view other blogs but Neptunus Lex is at the top of the short list.
You’re up to 12 votes now that mine is cast. Like a few of the previous commentors, I read a few other blogs, but given only one vote, it went to this blog, no contest.
Now, the question is… Doesn’t twelve votes effectively disprove Lex’s infamous “both of my readers” theory?
Now it’s 14. Can’t you just feel the love?
It’s at least 15 now – didn’t know bout this. Happy to do my part…

When will they update the main screen?
Geez Lex, I voted for you… Don’t let it get you down. Anyway, Froggy is a good man to lose to.
Ok! so! Everyone delete your internet cookies and keep voting for Capt. Lex!
Ah I guess that would be cheating.
By the way you’re at 18 at last check.
Ok, mando study time now.
Ditto what Dan & SeniorD said (Yeah I’m a ditto head), up to 19 votes & 2%.
Heh. Having a *lot* of computers, I voted for me (d-uh) and you…
It’s not like I was going to catch Matt, Yon, Heidt, or American Soldier…
