Looks like we win again!
“The race is not always to the swift, nor the battle to the strong – but that’s the way to bet.” – Damon Runyan
Hats off to all the participants, and a very special thank you to the donors. This is a good thing, you did.
John of Argghhh! is in the right of it, of course: Amazing what we can do when working together.

And finally, a humble tip o’ the cap to FbL – a class act who was the real driving force behind Valour-IT. Some think, some talk, some do. She did – BZ, lady.

Heh. Conveniently ignoring the fact that in the defined race – first to 21K… *we* won.
The same way you guys fight budget battles, too. Which, absent a war, we *always* seem to lose, too.
*Hairy eyeball*
Thanks for the kind words, Lex. But really, I’m not the one who made this happen. It wouldn’t have happened without the work of all the bloggers like you who used their contacts and skills to get out the world and convince people to donate. I feel privileged to have you all on the Valour-IT team.
P.S. I don’t want to rain on the Navy parade, but rumor has it at least one of the checks yet uncounted is $1300+ for Army. Truly, the totals are close enough that it ultimately could go either way… We should know by Tuesday.
First past the post, or most on the toast? See, what you guys don’t understand is that we were running in a… a different race. Yeah, that’s it!
The one where we win.
*Steps out on the parade ground, looks into the sky. Shakes head sadly, unfurls umbrella*
That just all dem Airborne soljers, p*ssin’ on ya, Lex!
Nice tribute to FbL, now if she could just accept it…she does deserve it.
Michael! You guys are ganging up on me, now!
Fine.
Okay. *deep breath*
*long pause*
*stammer, stutter*
Thank you.
*BLUSH*
*biting tongue to avoid adding any qualifiers to above statement*
OUCH!
