"Sign on, young man, and sail with me. The stature of our homeland is no more than the measure of ourselves. Our job is to keep her free. Our will is to keep the torch of freedom burning for all. To this solemn purpose we call on the young, the brave, the strong, and the free. Heed my call, Come to the sea. Come Sail with me." -- John Paul Jones
"Pardon him, Theodotus; he is a barbarian, and thinks that the customs of his tribe and island are the laws of nature" --George Bernard Shaw, "Caesar and Cleopatra"
"And those who were seen dancing were thought to be insane by those who could not hear the music."--Friedrich Nietzsche
"A kind Providence has placed in our breasts a hatred of the unjust and cruel, in order that we may preserve ourselves from cruelty and injustice. They who bear cruelty, are accomplices in it. The pretended gentleness which excludes that charitable rancour, produces an indifference which is half an approbation. They never will love where they ought to love, who do not hate where they ought to hate."--Edmund Burke
“You say that it is your custom to burn widows. Very well. We also have a custom: when men burn a woman alive, we tie a rope around their necks and we hang them. Build your funeral pyre; beside it, my carpenters will build a gallows. You may follow your custom. And then we will follow ours.”--General Sir Charles Napier

You scored as Journalism.
You are an aspiring journalist, and you should major in journalism! Like me, you are passionate about writing and expressing yourself, and you want the world to understand your beliefs through writing.

Can’t say that I’m suprised at all about my results, and am rather happy with the results. It encourages me to continue my pursuit of my degree…. in journalism.
No shit. I’ve been working on a degree in journalism for 10 years now (I haven’t taken a class in 8 years- no time + no money + young children = no college)
You scored as English. You should be an English major! Your passion lies in writing and expressing yourself creatively, and you hate it when you are inhibited from doing so. I’m with were-kitty – English is a sideline – you scored in Journalism. One needs to be good in English to be good in Journalism. Do the journalism – you”ve been great. Oh, about the engineering thing – ahhh, who cares? There’s no money in it when you can write a book instead.
Three way tie between Chemistry, Engineering, and Philosophy. Probably a good mix for my line of work. Philosophy is very important when a Chief is telling you exactly where your lineage went wrong.
And Cap’n, if you needed an online quiz to tell you you’re into the English language then I think someone’s been shorting you on O2 all these years. I mean, look around. Nobody massages the language the way you do without a deep affinity for it.
You scored as Mathematics. You should be a Math major! Like Pythagoras, you are analytical, rational, and when are always ready to tackle the problem head-on!Engineering100%Biology100%Mathematics100%Psychology83%Philosophy83%Chemistry75%English75%Anthropology58%Sociology50%Linguistics50%Journalism42%Theater42%Art17%Dance8%What is your Perfect Major? Don’t feel too bad, Lex. Hell, I *was* an English major, but have made my living in the computer industry for the last 20 years…
Apparently I should have been an engineer all along:

What a hoot! Didn’t have an analytical bone in my body untill I went to AOCS 31 years ago. Love those online polls.
re “Your dilemma”-
C’mon Lex, it’s Systems Engineering MANAGEMENT. It’s all aboutn how to herd those engineer cats, not how to be one. You’re still in the prereqs near as I can figure. Sheer analytical boredom will soon sink in. Business stuff will be interesting though. Should have went for that MBA!
B2
97% Journalism – which is kinda funny cuz many many years ago, I considered becoming a journalist and nearly went to school for that. Makes me seriously wonder how I ended up working with a bunch of Actuaries at present…though they do tell good jokes about themselves. Still leaves little room for interpretation & creativity. Ah well – better commute (60 miles round trip, down from 140) and the money is stellar. Hangin’ in there!
Tell me how I can say I completely disagree that I like to dance and still score Dance at 67%? Maybe it’s one of those “Try it…you’ll like it” deals.
In any case, it said I should major in Art so I guess I’m not too far off the mark. Now, if only they could come up with a test that will tell you whether or not you’ll be met with any success in that field….
