Had to do it, finally. The spammers and the pfishers beat me down. Did I want to buy Viagra from “Doctor”?

I did not. Doesn’t matter how impressive his accomplishments, being, you know: A doctor and all.

Was I interested in confirming my account information with eBay, Amazon and Capital One?

Not so very, especially in that I don’t have an account with Capital One.

What does this all mean? Not too terribly much. Except that I deleted the old ‘neptunuslex.com’ email address, and put a new one on the contact form instead. Just so’s you know not to use the old one, if you’ve kept it on file.

Spammers. I hate those guys.

Good thing that pilot mojo works even without the Hornet…

    *swoon*

  • lex

Now if I could just remember when I fogot it…

I thought the 2nd thing was memory…? On second thought, I suppose that is consistent with your statement. :D

Has anyone noticed how close this discussion has gotten to the line drawn here? http://www.neptunuslex.com/2006/01/29/on-courts-martial/

Just pointing out how wide spread the SexHar minefield has become. And Lex, over there you said: “Where to draw the line between adult interaction and sexual harrassment is one that the Navy has struggled over at least since I was a division officer – by now, I think we?ɬ

I doubt from these examples, LT Black & here, we’ve got it any where near “Right”.

BTW, at the USNA the above discussion could have been grounds for a SexHar complaint. Especially if your an instructor, and one of your … didn’t like you.

Now the final point, now that you have received a complaint, and an offer of a NJC – PLOC, what would you do? Your career’s toast.

Oh, please. You cannot simultaneously argue as a libertine and a prude, at least not convincingly. This is virtual space, not physical, and none of those in dialogue here are in any statutory relationship to any one else as junior or senior.

You will have to do much, much better, or else greatly degrade by association the quality of the rest of your argument.

    What Lex said. *rolls eyes*

LEX & FBL Maybe I didn’t state my point clearly enough. I was just trying to point out the irony of this discussion re: the cited posting(s). “Lex doesn?ɬ

LEX & FBL Maybe I didn’t state my point clearly enough. I was just trying to point out the irony of this discussion re: the cited posting(s). “Lex doesn’t need Viagra…” is just one word short of what LT Black said.

Being said in virtual or physical space has no bearing on the potential for embarassing the Navy.

It’s fun to debate, but just because it’s on a PUBLIC BLOG doesn’t diminish the potential for unintended consequences.

In issues of sexual harrassment, matters of audience and context are hugely significant.

Mary Alpha, Dan is a freshman college student (if I recall correctly), and between the four of us (Lex, Sgt. B, Dan and I), there are multiple offline connections that make us varying depths of genuine friends.

So, do I have to be so obvious as to state that what can be said and done among friends is very different than what can be said and done among colleagues and fellow sailors (whether friends or not)?

Frankly, being a relative newcomer to these pages, you would be wise to survey the lay of the land before making such judgements.

(Yeah Lex, I know… I just couldn’t resist. But see what happens when you slack off? This place gets out of control! ;) )
