WMD – In case anyone still cares

From the Washington Times courtesy of alert reader Jason:

Audiotapes of Saddam Hussein and his aides underscore the Bush administration’s argument that Baghdad was determined to rebuild its arsenal of weapons of mass destruction once the international community had tired of inspections and left the Iraqi dictator alone.

There’s no real smoking gun here, yet. But there aren’t any smoking holes here, either.

Which is a useful thing to remember.

The fact is the U.N. and the U.S. gave Hussein so much warning that he would be attacked that he had ample time to get rid of the evidence. Sometimes I wonder if the U.N. had pulled out its inspectors and the U.S. waited for 2 or 3 months, and then with great stealth attacked Iraq without warning, what would we have found?

Simple case of cause and effect, yet still, 40% of the “fact challenged folk” in this great country still don’t get it…

    The stupid should be punished.

“There’s no real smoking gun here, yet. But there aren’t any smoking holes here, either.”

But that would not be from a lack of trying, now would it?

And bob (B2) is right. The stupid should be punished. Thanks to Bubblehead for making that Submarine Force (and I suspect Navywide) doctrine common knowledge.
