Yep. That pretty much makes sense.

Update: You read the article of course. So now you know that it’s all summat to do with a father she never met, cigarrettes, faux booze, Newt Gingrich and blog post comment-gazing: 10. 20. Two hundred. Ooh!
Oh, yes: And Darfur.
We all blog for different reasons, I suppose, and for your essential primal scream relaxation technique, a blog probably has lower life cycle costs than psychotherapy. And I suppose that if you’re condemned to greet the morning every day not with light heart and glad hope but rather with simmering rage and glowing anger, having realized that your favored 2004 presidential candidate still isn’t in office, it’s probably useful to know that there are others – many others – who feel just like you do.
To re-discover the what the warm love of the angry left feels like in those comment holes, take a gander at this HuffPo post by Joe Klein, wherein the Time magazine writer attempts to clarify the difference between right-thinking liberals on the one hand, and hate-America leftists on the other. It’s a distinction that the left-leaning Klein should have been qualified to make, if I’m any judge. But apparently I’m not: It’ll quickly become clear to you in his coments that liberals or leftists or what-have-you’s DO NOT HATE AMERICA!
The just HATE YOU, Joe Klein! You BASTARD!
Whew!

Wow. Thanks for sharing. I’m not sure “angry” captures it – “mad” is more appropriate.
That,..er….lady, needs anger management classes at minimum..
Ain’t this country great that someone can write delusional and histrionic stuff down for all the rest of us to read?
Is that a Merlot she’s drinking? Pell-Mell cigs? I really pity Adam.
Spell checker? Nah let ne hit submit. LOL.

Looks like someone forgot her meds – everyday, all the time. Terrible problem, that. Glad. I’m. Not. Her. or her poor family.
Can you imagine having her for a next door neighbor and getting into some kind of minor conflict? Envision what would spew across the fence!
I pity her and her family. To be so consumed by anger that it blinds you to the beauty of the world is awful.
Reminds me of southern France and listening to some of the French intellectual elites argue about the Fat, Dumb, Americans and how if the French Government listen to them the world would be a happy place. It also seems that the anger for a number of these left-leaning bloggers is because they don’t believe that thier side lost. I have seen a few that still claim the 2000 election was a fraud with every other post about the President. Oh well.
The sad, really sad, thing about that article is this woman is NOT alone. Oh, no…far from it. I venture into the fever swamps of left-wing blogs quite often. What I read there appalls me.
But, OTOH, I’ve pretty much quit reading the comments at LGF and Free Republic, just to name two rightie blogs. It seems we on the right can roll in the muck with the best of the Left. All told, this doesn’t say a lot for the state of American political discourse.
Lost soul?
Or a digital Madame LaFarge?
Like Buck, I also lurk over on several left/liberal sites, and have found them to be some of the angriest. Iraq the Model has a few leftist on it which seem to be there just to incite. Maybe the anger is what makes them what/who they are??
What a great photo – you can see the veins sticking out of her neck. Wouldn’t you love to be like that? All. The. Time.
That’s why I stick to certain high brow *cough* blogs like Neptunis Lex, belmont club, winds of change and a few like that who discuss military and political situations with somewhat better tone and higher discourse *cough* (on most occasions anyway). Where even the left may hotly defend their position, but most folks refrain from calling people names or wishing death and destruction.
I don’t find those kinds of folks any better than Phelps group with their idiocy and vile.
Besides, if I wanted to get in a fight about politics and the war I would just go say the words “President Bush” to my moon bat youngest brother (my middle brother being a Republican with libertarian leanings) and I could have an all day, knock down drag out war of words complete with conspiracy theories and insistance that I break down, watch F9/11 and become a believer.
I love when he starts talking about some policy or other he heard on TV and I tell him its a Republican initiative. Can you say, Melt Down? LOL
Anyway, no need for these folks. The world is full of them
“I’m not drinking Merlot! If they want Merlot, I’m leaving…….”
Actually I think the vitriol runs on both sides of the aisle. Bought the DVD “Good Night and Good Luck” which is a pretty good movie IMHO. However reading about Don Hollenbeck got me researching Jack O’brien the columinst for the New York Hearst outlet. He was a right wing fire breather for sure. The Bill O’ Reilly of the age.
Politics is like religion. Something to take in measured doses. When one gets fanatic about it, then Katie bar the door………..
I’m not a zen master or a psychologist, but you can’t convince me that THAT much anger is good for anyone mentally or otherwise.
Someone may need to remind them that No One listens to the ravings of a Lunatic.
And with some of those titles for her articles, thats exactly what she is
In keeping with the day I am refraining from making some sarcastic remark abotu the woman, a personal fault mind you, that I work at fixing. Anyway, anyone with that much anger had to have been severely abused as a child or has some serious psychological issues. I have seen more than my share of that kind of suffering in others and I find myself feeling sorry for her. Unless she addresses the root cause, I suspect she won’t live an average life span. Pity. No sarcasm intended.
CAPT Lex,
How did that photo of my wife get on your blog? Now you know why I go to sea, don’t ya? And why she’s so angry!
I left the seat lid up. Hyuk!

PS, that’s not really my wife. She is just a poor facsimile thereof. The real Chief of Subsunk Operations is a much nicer lady, who makes me strip when I walk in the door, turns a (cold) fire hose on me to wash off the sea stink, makes me load my diesel fume and amine soaked clothes and seabag into the washing machine and start it washin’, then takes a wire brush to my face to clean off the possible radioactive contamination before I am allowed to lay finger number one on her and kiss her on the cheek. After 6 months.
Man I’m a good guy. Do the laundry, dishes, house cleaning, and babysit the kids too.
Now I’m done patting myself on the back.

As a follower of von Mises, I generally think supply and demand for any consummable good will clear through an unregulated free-market pricing mechanism. However, I’m a Keynsian when it comes to this particular subject. I think the supply of angry, bitter women of a certain age will always exceed the market demand for same.

[...] No – not the angry one. That left, with its childish temper tantrums, potty-language-as-a-substitute-for-rational-debate and moaning, self-indulgent navel gazing has gotten quite a bit more attention than they really deserve, and a period of reflective silence from them would be very much appreciated.
