Major of Marines, USMCR:
First, in battle you move forward from where you are, not where you want to be. No one was more surprised that Saddam Hussein had no weapons of mass destruction than the soldiers who rolled into Iraq in full chemical protective gear. But it is time for the rest of the country to do what the military was forced to: get over it…
Second, America’s conscience is one of its greatest strengths. But self-flagellation, especially in the early stages of a war against an enemy whose worldview is uncompromising, is absolutely hazardous. Three years gone and Iraq’s most famous soldiers are Jessica Lynch and Lynndie England, a victim and a criminal, respectively. Abu Ghraib remains the most famous battle of the war…
Finally, today’s debates are not high-spirited so much as mean-spirited. To allow polarizing forces to dominate the argument by insinuating false motives on one side or a lack of patriotism on the other is to obscure long-term security decisions that have to be made now.

The problem with civility is it takes two to tango. The condemnation of the Marines in Haditha before they have even been charged has stepped over a line I will never tolerate. Call me uncivil and dam the torpedoes!
Here’s the only “clean” e-mail I received for Memorial Day. One of 35. I had to shut the comments off on the fotopage for the day because I got tired of cleaning up the “baby killer hope your son dies” lovelies that were deposited there to honor our troops. And I refuse to give this particular a**hat’s addy out because that is simply what he wants. If you’d like it drop me note and I’ll pass it on. Mass publicity he won’t get from me!
Bing is correct and it is a must. I just don’t see how that is possible when you have abominations like Murtha and radicals attacking everything military. Guess I just don’t have the right stuff! Again I find myself lacking!
“Now the world will finally see the USMC for what it really is. When the war
crimes trials end, the marines will be seen for who they really are. They
will be seen as people who beat up and kill children in cold blood. Funny
how Mattis was talking about himself and the marines saying “they don’t have
any man hood left any way.” they gave it up for George Bush in Iraq.
Suckers!!”
Oops! Sorry, I attributed Owen’s comments to his dad. My apologies!
