Occasional reader Bill sends this link along – a page dedicated to my first fleet squadron, maybe a couple of years before I joined them.
Because, time I got there? We were already done flying Spads. And dropping toilets on the enemy.

The toilet bomb. What a great story. I wonder what the New York Times would write if sailors did something like that today?
With three, you get toilet paper roll…
Neptunus Lex says by the time he got there, they were already done flying Spads. And dropping toilets on the enemy….
We had a squadron (VA-115) of AD-7s on my bird farm and they were the most fun to watch land. Hovering above the flight deck, doing about the speed of the ship, they’d pull the power and just drop out of the sky. I never saw any toilets hanging under them, just lots of turd shaped stuff.
I had posted that in the flight school post last week. Along with the MIG-17 kill that VA-25 scored in 1965.

The Spad: VFA…With Persistence!
Nice Sid you are the Link King. It’s got a fuse and everything!
May I suggest some Metamucil for that persistence.

Funny thing is, there is a toilet that is part of a resin aftermarket kit for 1/48 scale SPADS

What are the criteria for an “E” in toilet bombing?
