Choosing sides

I wrote yesterday on the topic of the troll-turned-stalker and UAz psych prof Deborah Frisch, who’s been giving Jeff Goldstein over at Protein Wisdom a bit of trouble.

It seems she has some allies, who have subjected Jeff’s site to a DoS attack. Froggy has more over at Blackfive’s, including some of the comments that Prof. Frish (of the University of Arizona) left on Jeff’s site, before her allies shut him down. He also leaves some info on ways that you, gentle reader, might register your concern, if it do ya.

Freedom of speech for me, but not for thee?

Despicable. And entirely too freakin’ strange.

Turing word: Orwellian. As in: This stuff is getting Orwellian.

Update: Lesson for Lex - go to memeorandum first. Ms. Frisch admits as how, just possibly? Viewed dispassionately? She might have crossed a line. And apologizes! And resigns from her adjunct teaching role.

Someone should write a book.

Update 2: On the issue of DoS attacks, Baldilocks has a great point:

These saboteurs may harbor the same type of evil notions as Frisch, however I suspect that they don’t. Likely, they are mere political partisans who disagree with Jeff’s demonstrably conservative and well-articulated stances so strenuously, that they are willing to stand with Frisch—a leftist, anti-war BDS-sufferer—and take overt action on her behalf, while overlooking her perversion and murderous intent. And it is these people—those who would give quarter to the Frisches of this world; who believe that politics trump decency—who are the most dangerous.

Arizona psych professor threatens life of 2-year old child…

Again I have to wonder about the mental state of our friends on the lefthand side of the sphere when people publish comments that move from insults to threats against children. Protein Wisdom’s site is down, but the comments have been preserved….

Lex, you are too kind. Read her “clarification” re her so-called white flag. She was planning on resigning even before all this blew up in her face. Not much of an apology if you ask me.

Actually SW..it’s worse than that. Seems that she is reveling in all the attention she is getting out of this..even tho it is negative.
And it’s evidently not the first time she’s pulled this type of stunt. Lil’ Deb is a certifable “A-1″ wack job if there ever was one.

many of the links to other blogs and even news sites that you link are “access denied” by my work. I was able to go to her “white flag” and I am just curious about one think

What would the NY Times say about all this..

One thing for certain, after Mr. Goldstein was able to have his site up and running again today, he gained many new readers.

His class and restraint are remarkable.

As far as Ms. Frisch, not sure what to make of her. Pyscho is the word that comes to mind. She definitely needs help.

Meet Deborah Frisch, aka Professor Cyberstalker…

Protein Wisdom was recently attacked by a most alarming cybertroll, who turned out to be a professor at the Arizona university, Deborah Frisch, who also maintain her own blog and has quite a record of stalking other people’s blogs as well. And the me….

I wouldn’t take Ms. Frisch’s word for her “resignation” - the U of Ariz. Fall ‘06 schedule still lists her as teaching PSYC 297A.

Lex, it ain’t quite Orwellian yet (the woman seems liek Glenn Close in THAT movie…) but it points up that we can never, NEVER, let these wackos ever, ever (more emphasis) gain power in this country….Seems to be so many of ‘em, too.

They’d make Bill C. look like Ronnie R. at best or bring us a Robespierre like Terror…
