A great read - worth every minute of my time. Lots of people I know who need to read it, and really understand how upside down our 'values' have become. It makes no sense to me that we should pay thugs to play basketball in the NBA over a million bucks a year, and yet these young men and women risk their lives for us every day for what amounts to pennies. It's definitely upside down.

Wherever we get these people - thank God we do, and you are counted in that number, Lex!

Chap's always beating me to the good stuff!

And RPL, I have no idea - I'm just glad that we still have such men. We all should be.

Thanks for the tip, Grumpy.

Dear Lex:

On Friday night I had the pleasure of having dinner with some of the other soldiers angels in the NYC area, and we hosted a young soldier named Elijah, who had been wounded in Iraq. He was able to fill us in a little bit about some of the crap that the wounded have to go through down at Walter Reed and Bethesda, but their morale remains high.

Were does the US find such people, who are willing to sacrifice so much?

Lex,

Just a thought, along the same lines. There is a book I'm reading, titled- "AWOL**** The Unexcused Absence of America's Upper Classes from Military Service-**** and How It Hurts Our Country****" by Kathy Roth-Douquet and Frank Schaeffer. It is available through Amazon.com, you just might want to read it.

Respectfully,
"Grumpy"
