I’ve been used to sharing the internets-based blogosphere with all kinds of miscreants, psychopaths and deviants, because hey: Who am I to judge?
But the rates just went down in the neighborhood, and I know who to blame:
Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has joined a burgeoning international community – by starting his own weblog.
The launch of http://www.ahmadinejad.ir was reported on state TV, which urged users to send in messages to the president.
I can’t wait.
Though he claims to be a man of the people, at least whenever he’s not out looking behind the cushions or under the bed for the 12th imam, Ol’ Beady-eyes must think he’s extra special though:
In a country where the media is strictly controlled, the internet has become the main forum for dissident voices.
But in its bid to crack down on anti-government bloggers, the government uses one of the most sophisticated internet censorship systems in the world.
Such restrictions will not pose a problem for the president.
I tried to go there and “welcome” him to the neighborhood, but all I was an “under construction” sign. I think maybe he should have waited until he had a little more content before going all public.
Update: Looks like the site may be a virus trap. Geez, who can you trust any more, if not wild-eyed end timers?

Try it now, seems to be working.
I think he got slashdotted this morning.
I tried translating the page and it won’t work for me. Probably just as well – my blood pressure probably couldn’t take it anyway.
Translation here:

Earlier today there was a translation link at the top right – kind of an American flag crossed with a Brit flag, I think. Can’t see it from work.
Liked your title – very funny…
I ain’t going there. I don’t wanna be on any list. “Looks around, warily”
What’s wrong with being a little miscreant once in a while?
