He told the story many times, and my friend know it by heart, how after sinking the German sub, he circled and dropped life rafts and emergency supplies, radioing their position to the British Command. It´s one of the many Laws of the Sea, the other guy is only your enemy while he´s able to fire at you. My deepest respect to USS Raven command and crew. They are Real Sailors.
