It would probably be easier than kinko's. The NYTimes just had a story the print on demand publishing industry, might be worth a look. In large part, this happened because of situation similar to yours, at the Baens Bar forum, where he posted up some bits and pieces and grew a fan base...who relentlessy campaigned bookstores to carry his books. The rest, as they say, was literary history ;) Lex, John Ringo went from being a sci-fi reader 5 years ago to best selling author with 25 books already to his credit.
