‘Round the video hornMalkin weighs in on the SF school board, etc. Nice sweatshirt. “Jet noise is the sound of freedom.” You bet. Although I’m not entirely sure the rock group “Dos Gringos” entirely concurs, though (Salty language in that YouTube vid to go along with what has to be the ugliest carrier landing ever flown by an FA-18 pilot. Which the way I heard it was he was a E-2 pilot, cross-trained as an LSO. As far as you know.) But you know what? These guys grow on you. Especially when they go in for guns. Heh, heh. I love the Dos Gringos video! Great pick-me-up…
According to their web site, they are actually F-16 pilots who have recently returned from an overseas “tour”. So they are completely down with the smell of JP, so to speak.
Dunno if you watched any of the others, but Gunz is pretty good, too! Well, the ending is kinda lame, but aside from that…
Lex,
In response to you mean spirited attack, (ow quitit!) I will stipulate to the following with respect to my Hornet driving (in)ability.
1. Being gunned early and often.
2. Out of 90 or so sorties flown, brought back all of the jet, each time (except that one AOA probe, that one time).
3. That at least 20% of my flight time was spent ferrying jets to/from Cecil for CAG.
However, WRT said ill-advised line up correction on the vid, please note:
1. Controlling LSO was Hornet guy.
2. CAG LSO was Hornet guy and future Blue Angel.
3. Pilot was Hornet guy (but I’m not sure for how long!)
4. Guy that was almost hit parked in F-18 on the 4 row was Hornet guy and future LSO school OIC.
I screwed up enough stuff during my short and inillustrious career – don’t try to pin any extra on me!!

PS Loved the Gunz vid. Great lyrics.
I applaud the actions of the SECNAV and sincerely hope that his was the first step in a planned withdrawal of all military activites, facilities and ceremonies from the San Francisco Bay area. I concede that the United States has lost the Battle of the Bay, and it is time to recognize that as fact.
Having Fleet Week activities in San Francisco is much akin to having an Armed Forces Day parade in Tehran or Pyongyang; what’s the point?
A London cab driver once remarked to me that, “Paris is a beautiful city, it’s too bad that the French live there.” The same can be said about San Francisco, which a famous San Francisco columnist used to refer to as “Baghdad by the Bay.”
nice sweatshirt, but only cuz Michelle Malkin is inside it.
crappy logo on it, but i guess she had to pander for the story.
I’d love to see Fleet Week moved to SD also. Screw SF and their commie-lovin’ anti-military crowd. Maybe we can ship all of the illegal’s there, make it their own little military-less. See how they like being seperated from the USA then.
oh Lordy… that has GOT to be one of the worst carrier landings in history. DAMN!
That ‘pilot’ that passed out, isn’t a pilot. He’s a reporter who went up with the Blue Angels (I think it was them), and passed out 3 times.

I’m not big on f-bombs but I thought the lyrics were hilarious. The only thing is…in the clip with the two planes together, did the wing tips brush? And is that what happens when wing tips brush? That looked terrifying.
In the A-4/Hornet (without going back to check) clip, I think it was a stores separation test gone bad, where the A-4 was flying close chase.
If you look, there appears to be something coming off under the wing and sort of hanging in the airstream before drifting off and taking of part of the A-4s wing. (It looks like the film was slowed down quite a bit, too.)
Thanks so much, Steve. I don’t have a trained eye for this, and what looks slowed down to you happens awfully fast for me. I hope that the pilot made it out of the plane.
