Targets of Opportunityblog advertising is good for you Credo"Sign on, young man, and sail with me. The stature of our homeland is no more than the measure of ourselves. Our job is to keep her free. Our will is to keep the torch of freedom burning for all. To this solemn purpose we call on the young, the brave, the strong, and the free. Heed my call, Come to the sea. Come Sail with me." -- John Paul Jones "Pardon him, Theodotus; he is a barbarian, and thinks that the customs of his tribe and island are the laws of nature" --George Bernard Shaw, "Caesar and Cleopatra" "And those who were seen dancing were thought to be insane by those who could not hear the music."--Friedrich Nietzsche "A kind Providence has placed in our breasts a hatred of the unjust and cruel, in order that we may preserve ourselves from cruelty and injustice. They who bear cruelty, are accomplices in it. The pretended gentleness which excludes that charitable rancour, produces an indifference which is half an approbation. They never will love where they ought to love, who do not hate where they ought to hate."--Edmund Burke “You say that it is your custom to burn widows. Very well. We also have a custom: when men burn a woman alive, we tie a rope around their necks and we hang them. Build your funeral pyre; beside it, my carpenters will build a gallows. You may follow your custom. And then we will follow ours.”--General Sir Charles Napier "Μολὼν λαβέ" -- Leonidas "Blogito Ergo Sum" -- Neptunus Lex Amazon AssociateFor the Effort!Winnar!![]() Subscribe![]() CategoriesPagesTagsacademy

priceless.
Reminds me of an old joke, which I can only hope I tell properly in ASCII.
Santa, being a pilot, and his sled being classified as an experimental aircraft, the FAA sends a gentleman around every few years to certify that things are above-board and suitable to fly in our rarefied atmosphere.
So Santa spends days grooming the reindeer, oiling the sleigh harness, polishing the brightwork and otherwise making things presentable.
The FAA guy shows up and examines Santa [overweight, heart rate good, blood pressure good, not allergic to peanuts or cookies], promptly renews his chit.
He then examines the sleigh [kicks the runners and notes the landing gear appears to be firmly attached to the aircraft, certifies that Rudolphs nose exceeds minimum allowable brightness, etc...].
It’s time for the flight test. Santa buckles himself in, starts his pre-flight checklist. The FAA guy gets in, sets a shotgun next to his seat, and starts to buckle himself in.
Santa see this, turns to the FAA guy, and asks, “What’s that for?”
The FAA guy smiles, checks that nobody is looking, and replies, “Well, I’m not supposed to tell you this, but you’re going to lose an engine on take-off.”
Merry Christmas one and all.

Thanks for the laugh, and Merry Christmas!
The Christmas Cartoon…
Lex found a gem that is sure to get a laugh especially from the brotherhood of carrier aviators. Too good not to share! Make sure you click on the image to get the full view.
……
That’s very good.
What? No ‘Thronomeister valve auto?’
Santa forgot the Frahnastat auto-light check, other than that, good launch…
Our deployed warriors are in my heart and thoughts, Godspeed to them all.
“And to all a good night…”
May our soldiers in places other than home – whever that is – have a safe holiday and a speedy return.
Sure Santa,
Night launches are fun…
but if you really want to light up Rudolph’s nose, come out to the I/O in August for a dawn launch at a dead calm.
