Every once in a while I get a note like this:
Lex: Thanks for your blog. Your stories regularly put a smile on my face and make me laugh out loud, and sometimes the opposite, which is Ok, too. (And because I go through San Diego weekly, I’ll soon visit a couple of the San Diego eateries you’ve mentioned to see if your writing puts pounds on me as well.)
Anyway, today, while laughing as I read “Cato,” the realization struck me that your site has been an every day read for me for quite some time and that I’ve been freeloading, so I (finally) hit the tip jar. No reply is necessary to that – it was overdue and is well earned.
Thanks, again, for the Blog, and for serving
No, thank you! I certainly appreciate the traffic and the kind words, and at least I can point to the contents of the tip jar now and again when the Hobbit asks me what the hell I’m doing when I spend so much time writing:
“See honey? I’m earning money. For you. AND THE CHILDREN!”
It doesn’t have to be plausible. Deep in her heart, she wants to believe.

I have also been delinquent, and I just hit the “Buy me a Guinness” icon. Enjoy.
I will, too! Thanks RPL. Next year in New York?
Let me know when, Lex. You, the Hobbit, SNO, the Biscuit, and the Kat; any and all are welcome.
