Well, just goes to prove Edwards is what I’ve always thought he was–a rudderless, smooth-talking, smarmy lawyer.
I have been watching this attack on Christianity for years now and just laying it off. This Christmas I asked my son to buy me a crusifix necklace. He was shocked! I told him it was time to choose up sides.
Guess I was right…
Just for the record, I would also wear a star of David if I didn’t think both together would cause a conversation piece, something I don’t want.

Perfect description of what so many fear lurks under that packaging. I used to just dislike her because I saw her as a feminist who sold out (let her man walk all over her because she needed him to get power–instead of creating her own power). But the more I get a look at her as she steps out of Bill’s shadow, the more unpalatable I find her .
I wonder how those two young ladies would fare if dropped in say, Jiddah?

I bet Edwards won’t last too long after Obamarama kicks off here this weekend in Springfield and Chicago. He and Hillary will zip up all the financing pretty quick, despite Edwards’ zillions. The thought of seeing all this for the next *two years* will be, uh, unpalatable. Not to mention all the Republicans who are positioning themselves for the nomination. How many are there now..?
Draft Dr. Walter Williams! We need a Professor/President who can calm and educate the unruly classroom known as the guvmint. Enough of the clownin’ around!
Plus, he knows how economies work.
On the flip side:
I am what I would guess could be called a “rogue” Christian. I really have a problem with just about all organized religions. Buried too many buddies because of it but I firmly believe the Bible, God, Jesus, Heaven. While I could not carry on a theological debate with Lex I firmly believe in what I believe and I see evidence of my beliefs everywhere I look. I also see the attack on Christianity everywhere I look also in the guise of separation of Chruch and State. I guess I should’ve posted this on The Flight Deck but I really don’t have time to do it justice. I did want to pass along this story as testimony to the “other” side. Notice how happy believers are vs their godless counterparts? Hmmmmmm!

I think this whole flap is the best thing that could have happened to Edwards. “Hate” is way too strong a word, but I sure have an ACTIVE DISLIKE for that slick, hypocritical windbag and his class-warfare message. I may be attaching way too much significance to this whole brouhaha, but I believe mainstream Democrat voters (and rational primary voters, too) will notice.
Stick a fork in him, Edwards is done.
It’s permanent open season for three groups in this country…christians of all stripes, white males and lawyers,smarmy or not. As a member of all three groups I often feel like one of those hapless mid-evil warriors beseiging a castle in one of Gary Larsen’s better cartoons…one says to the other, “these new uniform are just not working out”…punch line…the uniforms are covered with bullseyes…get it?, targets as in aiming points for the goobers on the castle walls…you have to see it to appreciate it… I think I need some rest. Best

Trout? TROut? TROUT? Oh man! Well, I guess ifn’ you don’t smoke a pipe, fish with a flyrod, and hang one of those cute little baskets offn’ your backside I could take you to some 8# Rainbows up in the hills above Atlanta. Catching them in streams no bigger than a ditch. Some real nice Brownies too. Or we can go “meat” fishin’ and catch a couple hundred little 16″ stockers below the dam in the Chattahoochie River below Lanier. Kids love the little things! heh!
Love to fish for Specks, Reds, and Snook down on the AL coast. Right off the Mobile Bay in the clear green river country. It’s just hard to stay away from the Flounder when they’re running though. Ummmmm, stuffed flounder stuffed with crawfish stuffin’!
This time of year? Lunker Bass up here and Sailfish down on the S FL coast. Man, this time of year is outrageous for Sails out from Hillsborough Inlet. Love that kite fishin’!
We fish small reservoirs around here built to provide local water. We’ve got dozens of them anywhere from 900 acres on up to 10,000. No gas motors so we designed all-electric boats. We caught 23 over 10# last year and already 9 so far this year including one that topped 14. It takes a five fish limit of at least 30# to get a check on the jon boat trails around here. The Spotted Bass run in the 5# range on average over on Lanier and we get some good Stripers in the 40# class as well. Run a 21′ Triton on the big water. Makes an excellent flats boat on the coast as well.
