Targets of Opportunityblog advertising is good for you Credo"Sign on, young man, and sail with me. The stature of our homeland is no more than the measure of ourselves. Our job is to keep her free. Our will is to keep the torch of freedom burning for all. To this solemn purpose we call on the young, the brave, the strong, and the free. Heed my call, Come to the sea. Come Sail with me." -- John Paul Jones "Pardon him, Theodotus; he is a barbarian, and thinks that the customs of his tribe and island are the laws of nature" --George Bernard Shaw, "Caesar and Cleopatra" "And those who were seen dancing were thought to be insane by those who could not hear the music."--Friedrich Nietzsche "A kind Providence has placed in our breasts a hatred of the unjust and cruel, in order that we may preserve ourselves from cruelty and injustice. They who bear cruelty, are accomplices in it. The pretended gentleness which excludes that charitable rancour, produces an indifference which is half an approbation. They never will love where they ought to love, who do not hate where they ought to hate."--Edmund Burke “You say that it is your custom to burn widows. Very well. We also have a custom: when men burn a woman alive, we tie a rope around their necks and we hang them. Build your funeral pyre; beside it, my carpenters will build a gallows. You may follow your custom. And then we will follow ours.”--General Sir Charles Napier "Μολὼν λαβέ" -- Leonidas "Blogito Ergo Sum" -- Neptunus Lex Amazon AssociateFor the Effort!Winnar!![]() Subscribe![]() CategoriesPagesTagsacademy

Well, that mental takes care of dinner…
Ick, Ick, P’Tuie
Wunner if he flew to the ceremony in “Fat Albert”?
Oh, that’s just disgusting. I’d rather you use one of those pop-up gotcha scary things. You owe us big time for this one.
*walking away, frowning, trying to spit*
Ewwwww.
Did Al Gore’s head blow up yet?
oh, man, what a way to start my two-week try-to-diet-and-exercise period…….
all I’ll have to do is picture him…..
no frig, and if I picture him behind me, I’ll log lotsa miles on the ol’ treadmill!
d
ROFLMAO!! I’m wiping tears here, Folks! Between Steyn (OMG!), Lex and Y’all I’ll never get my sandwich down.
[...] Neptunus Lex pointed out a small deficiency in Gore’s [...]
good one SJ!
Thanks! Now I have to gouge my eyes out!
Well, no one else has said it yet, so I reckon it’s up to me:
Some Animals Are More Equal Than Others.
I do hate this Animal Farm we have to live in.
Well even if he uses more electricity, at least America really voted for him!!!!
*cue the crickets*
With regard to the issue about Gore’s house in TN, there are several moonbat sites that are responding with support about Gore’s efforts to reduces his emissions.
So I wonder, when they say “…That means he tries to reduce his emissions as much as possible…”, does this mean he consumes less beans? Reduces his intake of laxatives???
Sorry, potty humor I know but I just can’t ignore the options.

Ignoring the hideous image you have planted in my head for eternity I have a possible solution for Al’s little energy faux pas:
To save energy, the Armand Hammer Memorial Shrine, located in Algore’s palatial Nashville mansion, will convert to using peanut oil provided by one-term President Jimmy Carter to generate heat and electircity. A grant from the ‘I (heart) ecology and other money making schemes’ foundation Chairhumyn Barbra Streisand will fly in her private jet to personally light the bio-degradable torch using a solid gold match specially commissioned by her wife James (Brolin) Streisand. A $2,000 per plate gala soiree, special invitation only of course, will follow with the proceeds to be donated to the St. Hillary for Goddess political campaign.
How much carbon does Al spew winging his way via Gulfstream from appearance to appearance? And I didn’t see him pedal up to the Oscars’ red carpet on his trusty Schwinn. I don’t know who these limousine liberals think they are fooling.
I sense a great deal of jealousy here.
Senator, elected President in 2000, helped create the internet, and an Oscar winner?
re: Senator, elected President in 2000, helped create the internet, and an Oscar winner
Two out of four ain’t bad Li’l buckaroo: In major league baseball it’d put you in the Hall of Fame – so chin up!
And since we’re talking about the things we sense, I’m feeling a characteristic humorlessness combined with an elitist appeal to authority (so long as that authority figure comports with personal preconceptions).
Does da “H” word apply or am I being too judgemental?
I read an article about Gore a cuppla years back where he met the interviewer at a famous Nashville breakfast spot. Al laid on da grits and sausage gravy pretty thick. Had a cuppla servings. That image stuck with me of him wid da ol’feedbag in place.
That image is still thar!

Hey Lex, a/k/a NL ?, Thought(thing I sense) for the day…Vatos Loco….Ima Fake…same same.. Pecker-Head. Best
You think so? Hmm. I suspect Ima Fake is well and truly banned, unless he somehow managed an IP change. Plus the style is different: Ima was almost ingratiating at first, before wildly over-reacting to presumed criticisms and finally lapsing into hypoxic incoherencies at the last. I used to wonder if we were all somehow living through some sort of medication cycle with him.
I thought for a bit our new guest might have been Jadeg*ld based on the timing – that worthy got banned a week or so ago for never having had an original thought at any other site, and expressing the ones he did have chiefly in the form of snarling “oh, yeahs?” – but this guy’s style is different too. He seems mostly resistant to ad hominem against those he’s actually talking with (as opposed to third parties) which elevates him above the mere trolls. He seems rather resistant to logic though, and I’m not entirely sure what he’s getting out of all this. It can’t be he’s having much fun, as he’s not representing his side of the argument very effectively, scoring few if any affirmative points and certainly doesn’t seem to be winning any converts.
Eh: Each to their own.
Lex, Was not actually serious with #20 above… but I did detect a pattern in the responses that you and the other commenters made to him that reminded me of the blogs reaction to Ima Fake’s stupidity a while back. His(Vatos Loco) abysmally ill-informed comment # 17 above was, in my opninion, a pose designed to provoke a response from you, which it did…score one for him. You apparently have a lot on your plate…suggest you scrape this pecker-head off your palte and into the trash. Best
My #17 is factual.
I’d also note Gore’s home energy consumption doesn’t seem that outrageous. After all, he is running two offices out of the home (with attendant staffs). I also imagine he’s receiving Secret Service protection and those folks also bring their own energy demands.
At a little over 3000 sq ft, my own house will use about a third of the energy (dead of winter or summer) Gore uses monthly–so his energy use is actually very good.
Senor Loco,
The Secret Service does not protect EX-Vice presidents, Gore included, although according to you he was elected in 2000. Right?
Re your math..suuuuurrrrrrrrrrre.
b2
BB: Yes, Gore was elected President in 2000. And the USSC, in 2001, stained itself with a decision in Bush v. Gore that ranks with Dred Scott v. Sanford and Beck v. Bell.
BTW, the numbers cited in NL’s cite are highly suspect. The right wing group claims it obtained Gore’s energy consumption from the Nashville Electric Service (NES). NES claims they did not and in fact never received a request from the group. Additionally, the average home in Nashville consumes almost 50% more energy than the right wing group claimed.
The Gores have a large home. They run several offices from it, with staffs. My home is just over a third the size of Gore’s; in certain months my electrical bills will approach $400 and I’m not running businesses out of my home.
re: the USSC, in 2001, stained itself with a decision in Bush v. Gore that ranks with Dred Scott v. Sanford and Beck v. Bell.
Because the decision of the highest court in the land went against your personal preferrence. Golly.
Do you ever worry that you take yourself too seriously? Because you ought to. Seriously.
BTW, when taking issue with cited references, it’s useful to cite a reference of your own. Otherwise, people might suspect that you were twisting peoples’ words to mean something different than what they said. Or just, you know: Making stuff up.
Because, once again, you’d like it to be true.
You’re really not very good at this you know.
NL: You speak of “making stuff up,” then point to comments where you assserted InstaCracker never said something that he clearly did. When I pointed out your error, you went full astern and offered that InstaCracker did, in fact, make the disputed remark but he meant something altogether different (Iran has been at war with the US since 1979).
This, despite the small fact, there is no US agency that indicates Iran is at war with us. I would have thought the US State Dept. might mention our ongoing war.
I’m not good at this?
With respect to the NES disputing the claims of the right wing group, one cite and another:
A pearl of wisdom from Non-Commissioned Officer I had the honor of knowing in the way back…”never ever get into a pissing contest with a snake”. Best
You silly thing. When I made a mistake, I retracted it instantly. Not so for you: You’d said that Reynolds claimed we’d been at war with Iran since 1979, when the record – I, linked and even cut and pasted it for you – said that he stated they had been at war with us. At which point, you dealt with the fact that he hadn’t said what you clearly hoped he had said – and falsely quoted him to say – by calling it “weasel words.”
You are welcome to your own opinions, but not your own facts. Why is this so hard? Your attempts to conflate the world as you’d like to be with the way the world actually is is both transparent and pathetic.
As for Gore’s hypocrisy, you’re defending the indefensible – unless it’s your position that elites ought to be allowed the privilege of overconsuming while also offering the hoi-polloi condescending advice on how to economize.
Which is a difficult position for global warming partisans to hold, since they simultaneously aver that the US – which powers through both wealth creation and consumption the global engine of economic growth that has in the last decades brought millions of people out of grinding, existential poverty – needs to do something about all that economic activity it’s generating. As a rich country, we may be consuming above the global median, but at least we don’t have the chutzpah to lecture others what they ought to do to make the situation better.
May I ask a personal question? How old are you? I’d hate to think I’m wasting my time taking some angry 15-year old this seriously.
Speaking of quotes:
Not pretty…around here… Best
You’re right, brother. I’ve been pig wrestling. I’ll let it go.
And the congregation said… Amen. Best
When I made a mistake, I retracted it instantly.
Not exactly, you tried to have it both ways. After stating InstaCracker never made the remark about Iran and war, you attempted to justify InstaCracker’s statement: that Iran considered itself at war with the US since 1979. It’s strange only you and InstaCracker seem to be privy to the war existing between the US and Iran. Even the highest levels of the US Government seem to be in the dark.
As I eloquently noted, at the time, a state of war between the US and Iran was central to InstaCracker’s defense of the legality of assassinating Iranian civilians.
These are facts.
Back on topic with Gore; he doesn’t own an average home. He owns a mansion and runs at least two offices from the home, complete with staff. Comparing his home and its energy use to the average home in Nashville is more than a bit dishonest. Further, Gore’s message isn’t that we all become Luddites and eschew energy usage altogether; instead, it is to reduce one’s carbon “footprint.”
The right wing group said it obtained its figures from NES. NES denies it. Somebody isn’t telling the truth. Moreover, the figures obtained by the AP indicate about 15% smaller enery use by Gore and nearly 50% greater energy use for the average Nashville home than those figures claimed by the right wing group.
Perhaps I infer incorrectly, but you seem to be a global warming skeptic. I base this upon your rather weak excuse about “economic activity” being synonymous with the need to pump more greenhouse gases into the atmosphere. Don’t you think alternative energy development and exploitation can produce even greater “economic activity” without the negative externalities? Or are you still bemoaning the lack of good blacksmiths to be found?
Uno momento Senor.
About that Secret Service spin ya tried. Please acknowledge your error. There are NO SS agents living in AL Gores pad.
Now, Senor I know you can divide 10000 by 3000 and come up with 3..what you forgot to include was Gore’s 350 a month gas bill added on! Re calculate. Some things ain’t worth defending. Shhh- I heard ALgore sets his thermostats at 80 degrees (Tipper makes him).
BTW, I am sincerely sorry to pick that ol’2000 election scab.

b2, now you’re wrestling with pigs. Dontcha know brother? You just get dirty and the pig enjoys it. Yer man wouldn’t acknowledge that the sun rose in the east if it stood a chance of challenging his preconceptions.
And the congregation said, hopefully for the last time…Amen. Best
[...] I was deceived! The “InstaCracker” thing should have given it away, combined with the characteristically stubborn resistance to reason and the psychically starved [...]
You know, my daddy taught me to never argue with an idiot or a fool or both. He said that when they start all that blathering, you just nod your head and say, “uh-huh”
Vatos: “Uh-huh”
(sounds of toilet flushing several times)
Cap’n,
Just ban the pig. He knows not of what he speaks.
