Did you know that MJ had a previous “conversion” about 25+ years ago when he supposedly became one of Jehovah’s Witnesses?
Which, combined with his latest conversion, could tell us a few things:
1. He is drawn towards more “fundamentalist” religions.
2. He is drawn towards those groups more or less on the fringe.
3. Not only did he move further and further towards the fringe as he got older, but based on his previous behaviour, he traveled way past that quite a while ago. This latest could just be the icing on the cake.
Frankly, I thought it was insulting towards the JWs when he proclaimed himself to be one of them many years ago. I would be tempted to say the same thing about his conversion to Islam if it wasn’t that it was Islam.
Coincidentally (or not), there was supposedly a family connection involved with his previous conversion as well – in that case, his mother was said, at the time, to be a JW.
Oh yeah, don’t expect it to last (unless he finds some way to keep it to his benefit, of course); after making a big media splash, his purported association with the JWs fizzled and died pretty quickly. Of course it might have helped that the “association” was pretty well all one-sided and he couldn’t even get the group’s basic tenets straight. Ask yourselves this question, do you think even Islam really wants him?
I see someone running from his debts, his bad choices and his lack of music sales in the U.S. He’s trying to make news for himself in a desperate attempt to hold onto his fading celebrity status.
I’d almost feel sorry for him, except for that whole pedophilia thing.

and in Islamic law, there is no interest or certain other concepts which, While Michael will lose out in the US, Bahrain is unlikely to sieze any of his property to pay his US debts.
Anyone else questioning the accurateness of this? Last I heard (on the radio today) was that MJ was firmly ensconced in Los Vagas at the moment. No metnion of Bahrain. Not that I was actually listening for news on HRH, it was just kind of there.
I guess I’m not even sure what I hope is true about this story.
