Today was a busy day. Work in the morning, and some homework schprinkled in – writing requirements and evaluating risks for a “Theater Missile System” software acquisition program that looks a lot like the ATACMS. (Reader’s Digest version of software acquisition? It’s hard. It will take longer than you thought it would, and cost a great deal more. Testing is important. And so on.)
Took a really cool brief from the CEO of a Silicon Valley company called “Acuitis,” a seven-year’s survivor start up that’s got some really cool AI-assisted tutoring technology on offer. Has Great Potential.
And after that? Well, we played golf. There’s an aviation O-6 Commander’s convention in town – yesterday the highlight speaker was Thomas P. Barnett, and his pitch is a subject I intend to spend some time on here once I gain access to my notes – and this afternoon’s team building session was conducted on the playing fields of Admiral Baker.
So as for your purposeful blogging, regrets but I have none.

Lex:
Looking forward to your posting re. Barnett. Curious to see if his pitch was similar to the one he gave to a strategy forum a little while back at CNA…

Jeez, I just endured an hour and a half of Barnett’s relentless self-promotion tour, courtesy of my doting four-star boss. Some valid points, some good ideas, and a whole lot of hope masquerading as a plan.
Go to it, Lex.
Re; “So as for your purposeful blogging…”
Well, in my book, Mil-Pron is ALWAYS purposeful blogging. I don’t think even Playboy has had a spread with such beautiful quadruplets. *GRIN*

Why have any regrets when you can post such great plan pr0n. Good start to my day here on the best coast…
Most importantly, did you play to your handicap?
Actually, even better! Of course, it was a four-man scramble, so…
If you need a good back channel expert on software development, I know of one. He’s the guy who helped me make the software guys here wince the second time when I asked if they knew what ITIL was. (The first time is when I ask them what HCI requirements they have, and what expertise was used to define how the information is displayed.)
