A day at the officeI have to admit that I never thought all that much of the Tomcat. But you know? It was a telegenic beast. 25 comments to A day at the office |
Credo"Sign on, young man, and sail with me. The stature of our homeland is no more than the measure of ourselves. Our job is to keep her free. Our will is to keep the torch of freedom burning for all. To this solemn purpose we call on the young, the brave, the strong, and the free. Heed my call, Come to the sea. Come Sail with me." -- John Paul Jones "Pardon him, Theodotus; he is a barbarian, and thinks that the customs of his tribe and island are the laws of nature" --George Bernard Shaw, "Caesar and Cleopatra" "And those who were seen dancing were thought to be insane by those who could not hear the music."--Friedrich Nietzsche "A kind Providence has placed in our breasts a hatred of the unjust and cruel, in order that we may preserve ourselves from cruelty and injustice. They who bear cruelty, are accomplices in it. The pretended gentleness which excludes that charitable rancour, produces an indifference which is half an approbation. They never will love where they ought to love, who do not hate where they ought to hate."--Edmund Burke "Μολὼν λαβέ" -- Leonidas "Blogito Ergo Sum" -- Neptunus Lex Relocating?SponsorsNearly 60k hits and 130k page views per month - low rates! Very cool video!
*finding a comfortable place in the corner to wait for Pinch, et al*
Great video. Well, the half I could see that wasn’t cropped out by the narrowness of the blog’s middle column, anyway. Maybe if I hold a mirror to one side…
Upgrade!
the plat tape of the pass about a minute till the end may have put the rudder pedal just about through the radar…
absolutely great pr0n! anyone seen the whole DVD yet?
La Bestia Grande Di Magnificant…

I think I was “straifed” by one of those early one morning as I was riding my motorcycle on that road from Lone Pine to Panamint Springs. Afterburners are really loud aren’t they? The SOB snuck up on me from behind and covered me with kerosene. But he sure looked good as he stood it on its tail, then turned left and disappeard behind a mountain.
Do you know how lucky you are?
So Lex, do they pipe that music into everyone’s helmets?
Big, heavy, fast and deadly when in the hands of an experienced aviator. I always liked the way she looked, it just looked aggresive to me. Lex, are they using real Migs and SU’s at Miramar now that we have access to them? If they are, that has to be a huge advantage in combat.
Lex’s bumper sticker:
“I say we dogfight 5 days a week and drink Guinness on the other two”
Hey, maybe it will catch on and it’s his ticket to financial independence, once the guv’mt check is as big as it used to be. He could sell them to all the VFA squadrons…
If this is off of the movie that I think it’s off of I’ve seen the movie. It’s pretty good.

I received the DVD a week ago
and really enjoyed it-same reviews
from friends who’ve seen it.
Thanks for posting the video-
got my jet fix at work!
Blue Skies!
I have to admit that I never thought all that much…
Admit? As if we didn’t know?
Cool vid, fer sure. And the F-5 ain’t no slouch in the looks department, either. Especially when done up in the Aggressor paint scheme. That said, I hated it when the Thunderbirds went into F-5s (T-38s, actually) for a while. Too small for good visuals, and airshows are ALL about the visuals…but Hey! Gas crisis, and all that. Life got better for airshow spectators when they went into F-16s.
Speaking of the ‘Birds (risky activity in these parts)…They have a new web site up. Kinda surprised me they’re no longer in the dot-mil domain. (Go ahead, snark away…)
The video really makes the aviator fires burn!
Thanks for the fix, Lex. What I need now is a loop to just keep it running!!
Lex, did you make a bad bet with Pinch that we aren’t aware of?? Or is this a blatant attempt at stacking up beer points for May?
Lex, did you make a bad bet with Pinch that we aren?
[...] In a surprising move, Lex sets aside his well-known preference for solitary confinement and serves up Tomcat “plane prOn” of all things. It’s Hollywood widescreen squeezed into YouTube but it’s still not a bad “Day at the Office.” [...]
And to think they paid us to do that!
Got the juices going, that’s for sure. Climb into a D without the tanks and you have an aerospace war machine that does indeed water the eyes.
I doubt you’ll be hurting for brew on Friday night, Lex, but you have one from me coming.

The Tomcat……
I have been sick all day. I think food poisoning. It sucks. But this makes me feel better……
DJVC:
I got the DVD and it’s very worth owning. Both pilots in the movie are now probably qualified in the F18 in the post Tomcat era.
BTW: The music in this video surely lends energy to it. Enjoyed it.
Great Vidio, just loved the shots and music. Looking for the #s of the new Battleship USS Dunham. CVN? The announcement came out a couple hours ago. I do embreoidery and want to make a couple for his parents. Semper Fi Gary Any help would be very apprecieated.
All these references to “the dvd”. What’s the title? I want to get it in my netflix queue…
Thanks!
