You know what to do.

For what that’s worth.

Hey! Nice theme!
I like it, too.
I went to the header.php file and dumped the link in the upper left corner (it hovers there).
Mozilla Firefox 1.5 seems to manage it ok. Not bad, if change is required.
I think this is your best one yet. Nice and crisp.
Hmmm…. not bad at the computer in the library. Almost kind of purty. And thanks for keeping the preview function.
My only complaint (just because I just have to have one) is that its too wide for the screen. Actually, I just realized that if I scroll hard to the right, I can block out most of the Google ads. Yeah, I think I can live with that
The real test, though, will be looking at it from home tonight. Or on the even older office computer. More to follow.
Looks good in safari, firefox and camino. Did you mean to link your entire credo to “Colors on the Stenis”?
That’s the only thing I can find that seems off.
Oh, 12 packs of Guiness are $11.99 @ Miramar.
FWIW, I just realized that the credo is linked on the main page, but not individual post/comment pages. I’m guessing you have an unclosed tag somewhere
That was a fast fix, you must have done it while I was writing the above…
strikeout test
The text above should have a line through it. It does in preview. (Comment 6 should have the first paragraph lined out as well)
IE 7 on a PC looks good. I like the alternating colors for the comments, sans the shaded Hornet, and that I see a preview before I take a deep breath and hit Submit.
I don’t like having to click twice to get to The Flight Deck. I click on the link under “Pages” on the left or the tabs at the top, and I go to the “…it’s a wiki of sorts…” Why can’t you go right to the front page of TFD from here?
Layout-wise, I think there’s too much “white space” to the right of “The unbearable lightness of Lex. Enjoy” in the title bar at the way top. I want to see something there. Perhaps move the image of the CVNs to that space, or something.
Looks very nice, but the RSS feed button in the upper right is very large. And you have a “sponsors” window on both sides, the right, er, starboard side is empty.
I Like it. I think it is cleaner than the previous change. Minor nit picks:
A little too much empty space in the header.
A little too much empty space on the line with the search [Go] box.
No timestamp on the post titles.
Maybe one too many font colors (date/time stamp in comments kind of jumps out).
The green backgound in the comments doesn’t seem to fit with the overall color scheme.
Just my $.05. (Using IE 6.0)
Looks good thus far (need to check w/Firefox @ home), but after delving through the comments sections I find myself with a sudden craving for these:
- SJS
I LIKE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I mean I think you got it right. Looks GREAT!
Looks great on Mozilla 1.7.1.2
What-the-hell. It is what it is and as long as it’s readable…..
In comment #11, the web address within it runs right off the page. (er, to starboard).
Michelle’s correct, but better yet, my E-7 has a little “percent thingy” down in the right-hand corner, and by enlarging to say, , , , 150% I can lose all the “distractions”.
So there!
Excellent
Loads slower than the previous one??
And I agree with Steel Jaw. The comment colors are a little too “minty fresh”. I like the alternating color concept, but the mint green seems a bit feminine for the big strong Lex that we, Lex-babes, all know and love.
Looks good. Why does it take two clicks to get to the flightdeck on all of the new sites? The old site sent you straight there.
I haven’t cared for the other themes enough to comment, but i really like this on! I’ve always like the color schema on the old style, so I think keeping that is what makes me give it the thumbs up.
For what it’s worth from a long time lurker.

Nice update. The header needs some work; you should find some sucker with Photoshop skills and too much free time on his hands
Looks good on IE 6.0.2900. except this particular comment thread. The center section is forced all the way to the left and overlays the left column. I would guess that the cause is comment 11 by SJS. The long URL he included doesn’t seem to want to wrap and instead forced the box to be much wider and right justified. Maybe the rendering engine won’t wrap a long string?
Everything else renders properly. Nice colors and easy to read. I agree with SJS that the colors remind me of the candy hearts.
I think you hit that last on the nail, Dale – I’ll try and touch that code up later, thanks.
And thanks to everyone else as well! More work to do, but we’re getting closer.
Lex;
Make sure you get the 1.3 version. I saw a note where there was a bug in the 1.2 and earlier that pushed comments to the left side. 1.3 fixes that…
PS: what comment preview plugin are you using? I’d like that one, too!
Lex, this ROCKS. WAY cool. Four-O, sir!
Here’s the live comment preview url, Curt:
Lex,
Like it more an more.
One link: the Flight Deck tab doesn’t go all the way.

I don’t know version 1.3 from 3.1. I’m on an older laptop and it looks TERRIFIC to me!
No critic here, no complaints! I like it!!!
As I’ve always said – it’s about the content Sir. Your site, your design, your bill – your call.
lex, boola boola– for you blackshoes, alfa mike!!
Wow, will wonders never cease! It actually fits on my screen here at home. A little colourful, a little busy, but it’s all yours!
Tres bien!
Much better than the last outing, Sir. Almost as comfy for me as the “old home place”. I use Firefox most of the time and like Michelle, I block the stuff (cough) to port that I’d just as soon not mess with, like ads.
Must say – I do like that Hot Mic feature.
Makes navigating quicker and easier. Even if I still do have to go behind it to make sure I haven’t missed anything.
Much better!
The Blue could go back to that water background. That was a nice touch…
Excellent…best to date. I hope you keep this version with just the bare minimum of tweaks.
FWIW I’m using Firefox/1.5.0.11 on a PC at 1024×768.
Lex,
Looks good running Vista and IE7
Jim
Dittos on my Vista and IE7 set up. Tomorrow I will check from IE6. I like the layout and colors as well — nicely done.
Hi praise indeed, thankee.
Hmmm… Somehow I missed this post. Tells you the kind of week I had, LOL! But I like it a lot. It’s definitely new and fresh, but not so different that it loses its “Lex-ness.”
Only “constructive” comment I have is that I’ll second the suggestion about designed an entirely new header.
Good stuff.
Oh, and I’m thrilled to have the links to next and previous posts so I don’t have to go back to the main page!
On my Treo the main text shows up as blue on dark blue background. Comments are readable.
On an old PC, MSIE 6, it looks clean and professional.
