The stature of our homeland is no more than the measure of ourselves. Our job is to keep her free. Our will is to keep the torch of freedom burning for all. To this solemn purpose we call on the young, the brave, the strong, and the free. Heed my call, Come to the sea. Come Sail with me." -- John Paul Jones "Pardon him, Theodotus; he is a barbarian, and thinks that the customs of his tribe and island are the laws of nature" --George Bernard Shaw, "Caesar and Cleopatra" "And those who were seen dancing were thought to be insane by those who could not hear the music."--Friedrich Nietzsche "A kind Providence has placed in our breasts a hatred of the unjust and cruel, in order that we may preserve ourselves from cruelty and injustice. They who bear cruelty, are accomplices in it. The pretended gentleness which excludes that charitable rancour, produces an indifference which is half an approbation. They never will love where they ought to love, who do not hate where they ought to hate."--Edmund Burke "Μολὼν λαβέ" -- Leonidas "Blogito Ergo Sum" -- Neptunus Lex Relocating?Military members find information on homes for military by visiting Military Homes.com For the Effort!Subscribe![]() Tagsafghanistan AGW Araby army Blogging buffoonery china culture economy Flying Friday Musings geopol GWOT Headlines health care History iran iraq issues Media Memory Lane Military Navy norks Oz pakistan piracy politicians politics Politics and Culture pundits Russia science seals sea stories silliness Small Stuff SoCal sport technology UAVs UK usaf usmc weapons WP Cumulus Flash tag cloud by Roy Tanck and Luke Morton requires Flash Player 9 or better. |

But isn’t it wonderful that a man can get so fantastically wealthy selling a product that doesn’t work very well– Ron Popeil eat your heart out. At least, I think wonderful is the word I’m looking for.
I claim the pink slice.
*ahem*
I experienced something almost identical to that this week but Internet Explorer wasn’t the probelm, it was another browser.
It just re-proved my opinion that pure html web interfaces are a superior from a business standpoint because they cost less in time and money to create and maintain. It would be nice if all programming languages worked they way they are supposed to on all platforms and on all browsers – but they don’t and not facing the facts costs time and money.
A UI should let you do what you need to do quickly, efficiently and easily. If you can’t do it in html then your ui is too complicated.
You shold be competing for customers by what’s behind the ui not the ui itelf. If you don’t have superior or unique functionality or content behind the ui you won’t keep customers no matter how great the ui is.
I think the yellow and purple sectors should be merged. That would make about half of one’s time involved with wishing the slow and painful on that disgrace to the autistic community.
And then there’s Vista, with the DRM, and all. What was it that guy Lurch said?
As a full-time professional web developer, I feel qualified to say that that chart is all wrong. The swearing part is much too small, and nobody actually tries to make things W3C compliant except for members of the W3C.
Although if I may contaminate your blog with a further bit of geekdom, a good way to attack that Firefox problem is with Firebug. It makes life as a web developer almost worth living.

Lex, I don’t care which platform you are using, the issues are the same. The applications may be different, the issues are still the same. As an end-user, I have gone through many things with computers. You never really understand why the logic board is also a “mother board”. Then you have the unforgetable experience of the frying of your logic board. Only now, do you begin to understand why it is called a mother board. #5 Brian R., how’s that? The amazing thing is this, take a look at this blog or community, Neptunus Lex. You see many differences in platforms and applications or browsers, but you also see a vision of this nation.
Grumpy
All I can say, there’s a reason I FIX computers and don’t program or build websites.
Not enough patience in the world for me.
