Which brings me to this: I’m not a fighter pilot type, but I do study the area a bit. I seem to remember hearing that the radical maneuvers that the MiG-29 and Su-27 (the cobra and backslide) are impressive to witness, but are of limited tactical value in ACM. Any truth to that?
Too bad they don’t have the money to make more of them…. well, not so bad actually. Good for us. And those Ruskies sure do know how to make a good ejection seats. That should tell you something.
And if we ever got into a dogfight with one of these guys, something went very wrong… in more ways then one.

Sexy, perhaps. For my taste, the wings appear too wide and the 2 tails (???) appear too tall. All in all an awkward design, methinks. Certainly no P-51 Mustang.
I wonder why no2 only has two wing racks, one and three show four. ?

Like another poster here, I’m not too sure of the tactical value of most of those maneuvers, but my background is that of a SAC tanker and airline pilot, so those with the requisite experience would be better judges of that.
