There is a kind of virtue in simplicity:

You bet.

The stature of our homeland is no more than the measure of ourselves. Our job is to keep her free. Our will is to keep the torch of freedom burning for all. To this solemn purpose we call on the young, the brave, the strong, and the free. Heed my call, Come to the sea. Come Sail with me." -- John Paul Jones "Pardon him, Theodotus; he is a barbarian, and thinks that the customs of his tribe and island are the laws of nature" --George Bernard Shaw, "Caesar and Cleopatra" "And those who were seen dancing were thought to be insane by those who could not hear the music."--Friedrich Nietzsche "A kind Providence has placed in our breasts a hatred of the unjust and cruel, in order that we may preserve ourselves from cruelty and injustice. They who bear cruelty, are accomplices in it. The pretended gentleness which excludes that charitable rancour, produces an indifference which is half an approbation. They never will love where they ought to love, who do not hate where they ought to hate."--Edmund Burke "Μολὼν λαβέ" -- Leonidas "Blogito Ergo Sum" -- Neptunus Lex Relocating?Military members find information on homes for military by visiting Military Homes.com For the Effort!Subscribe![]() Tagsafghanistan AGW Araby army Blogging buffoonery china culture economy Flying Friday Musings geopol GWOT Headlines health care History iran iraq issues Media Memory Lane Military Navy norks Oz pakistan piracy politicians politics Politics and Culture pundits Russia science seals sea stories silliness Small Stuff SoCal sport technology UAVs UK usaf usmc weapons WP Cumulus Flash tag cloud by Roy Tanck and Luke Morton requires Flash Player 9 or better. |

Nothing exceeds like excess!
Just be sure to remember how much ammo you have left.
You know, before I started hanging around MilBlogs, I was deathly afraid of guns – my dad had been an avid gun collector but I steered clear of all of it.
Now, thanx to all of you people – pictures like this one make me smile and wish I could actually see and hear the thing being fired.
Next thing I know, I’ll be at a firing range…
Kris, happiness is a belt-fed weapon…
Someone recently brought up the Kipling quote (perhaps yourself, sir) about how you can never have enough ammunition…seems to fit…
multi barrel = multi more fun
Has anyone seen the TV show “Future Weapons”? They showed a new type of automatic assault weapon that is being tested in Israel that has a barrel with a swing-arm feature to better protect entry-team Personnel. Would any of you know if the Pentagon is considering testing this for the future. Looked very promising, even to this civilian.
Deb, YES
Deb – I saw something similar on the Military Channel and they are looking at it for American military, along with a nifty robot to send into dark and scary places, first.
CPT J: “Happiness is a belt-fed weapon” – I wouldn’t know but darned if all you military types are making me want to find out…
My mother’s S.O. is a master marksmen – and has on more than one occasion offered to teach me how to shoot. Hmmmm…could be a nice new bonding activity.
Kris … success on the shooting range is addictive, I just found. Take your Mom’s SO up on the offer. {Does SO stand for ’significant other?’]
