Bolton and the BBC

I don’t think it will come as any surprise to anyone that has spent time here that Charles Johnson’s Little Green Footballs is not quite my cup of tea – not so much for anything that the siteowner himself has said, or at least anything he’s said that I’m aware of – but because I am aware of the fact that the comment threads there can degenerate into just the sort of good vs evil (as contrasted to wrong vs right) absolutisms that I lament in other places.

All that said, he’s sponsoring a splendid demonstration of what it takes to be a public figure in the world today, as former UN Ambassador Josh Bolton takes eventual exception to the oleaginous presumptions of a BBC reporter.

Ya gotta hear it.

WE NEED MORE PEOPLE LIKE JOHN BOLTON IN GOVERNMENT, FROM THE PRESIDENT ON DOWN. IF WE DID THERE WOULD BE FAR GREATER RESPECT FOR THE INSTITUTION.

What I like most is his ability to speak on political and international topics with an almost superhuman impartiality. I’m not convinced he’s a neo-con drone as the interviewer tried to portray him, which is rare for a man of his experience and position. He has an unusually strong moral compass when it comes to his convictions, which is always pleasant to see.

    “Oleaginous”…
Wow – I have not seen that word since some high school vocab class some 20+ years ago!
