Oh, yeah, Homefront. I agree with Confucius that the first thing you do when starting to talk about something is to call things by their right names. Otherwise, you quite literally don't know what you're talking about.

(Well, maybe you think you do, but the guy you're talking to might not know what you mean.)

Or even worse, *you* might not know what you mean.

JTG ~ did you make it far enough to get to Rich's arguments? His were great (as usual).

What drove me nuts (it obviously doesn't take much) was that even the people who knew that the soldier was wearing the new uniform didn't call it by it's actual name - the Army Combat Uniform (ACU). If you're going to correct people, at least educate them properly in the process.

Casca ~ MacGyver loves the Danners but they aren't approved for wear in the cockpit. I think he has a pair that he wears for field problems and such.

I made it about halfway down the comments on the PB4H post before I gave up reading. Seemed like the US-soldier-sympathizer types had the "nuanced" arguments, and the objecters were just ranting and foaming.

Hey, I voted for W twice, and the second time I had to grit my teeth, a little, to do it. Screaming little-kid playground-bully arguments really don't address some of the actual problems I have with the Administration.

We really need to elect Michael Z. Williamson World Dictator, I tell you. He has a plan for the stupid annoying people
