Lex, Seen this? Talk about airing dirty linen. You’d think they’d let the guy slink off into the night.

    Cap’n,

This is a MUCH nicer picture than seeing a Tico-class cruiser coming out of the mist. Someone, somewhere within the bowels of NAVSEA needs a course on designing warships with graceful lines. A Tico-class is one butt-ugly ship!

    CAPN,

Wudda never known you had such Shoe skills. First this image than rules of the road.

You must have an open copy of Duttons on your desk (from Canoe U. days).

What next? Maneuvering board solutions? Backwards penmanship on plexiglas status boards? Running splices? Monkey fists?

    Hokey smokes!

  • …and a right smart image of one of our BMD-capable AEGIS ships too :)

And speaking of FDNF, anyone know what became of Live from the FDNF? Been MIA for a few months now…

    re: “A Tico-class is one butt-ugly ship!”

Form follows function. That makes any Aegis platform a beauty in my book. They’re the only surface combatant to tempt my airdale eyes since seeing a Reserve Gearing class in Tacoma as a lad. There’s just something about a twin 5″ mount…

Sured I lived my tron dream working on APS-125,138, & 143 radars. However, I confess when the Aegis came out I heard the siren call to sample forbidden blackshoe tron pleasures.

Fortunately, Daddy raised me right and I knew that the path to the house of a strange woman was the path to Sheol. Do not pass Go. Do not collect $200. No matter how appealing any Aegis class it is after all just another skimmer target destined for the City of Destruction.

Still though, I wonder why Capt Rogers waited so long to splash that airliner. ;^)

  • More correctly, CW’s anchor is a’cockbill, though the Cap’n gets “A” for effort.

And I agree with SeniorD about the ‘Tico. Too much tophamper….

    Blackeagle,

Of course form follows function. Aegis ships needs LOTS of room for SPY-1A/D. Problem is the ‘Tico class started life out as a Spruance class destroyer whereas the ORIGINAL cruiser design had far less tophamper. In this case, form followed funding first.

sort of like an F/A-18 with 2 seats and ECM pods under the wings in Oak Harbor?

SNO wouldn’t by any chance have been aboard would he? I remember some mention of hom getting a far east summer cruise.

  • Idaho Joe

    Hom? Meant him, sorry.
