Targets of Opportunityblog advertising is good for you Credo"Sign on, young man, and sail with me. The stature of our homeland is no more than the measure of ourselves. Our job is to keep her free. Our will is to keep the torch of freedom burning for all. To this solemn purpose we call on the young, the brave, the strong, and the free. Heed my call, Come to the sea. Come Sail with me." -- John Paul Jones "Pardon him, Theodotus; he is a barbarian, and thinks that the customs of his tribe and island are the laws of nature" --George Bernard Shaw, "Caesar and Cleopatra" "And those who were seen dancing were thought to be insane by those who could not hear the music."--Friedrich Nietzsche "A kind Providence has placed in our breasts a hatred of the unjust and cruel, in order that we may preserve ourselves from cruelty and injustice. They who bear cruelty, are accomplices in it. The pretended gentleness which excludes that charitable rancour, produces an indifference which is half an approbation. They never will love where they ought to love, who do not hate where they ought to hate."--Edmund Burke “You say that it is your custom to burn widows. Very well. We also have a custom: when men burn a woman alive, we tie a rope around their necks and we hang them. Build your funeral pyre; beside it, my carpenters will build a gallows. You may follow your custom. And then we will follow ours.”--General Sir Charles Napier "Μολὼν λαβέ" -- Leonidas "Blogito Ergo Sum" -- Neptunus Lex Amazon AssociateFor the Effort!Winnar!![]() Subscribe![]() CategoriesPagesTagsacademy

Lex,
Besides having his claim to be Indian rejected by the tribe he claimed to be a part of, Churchill’s entire tenure has been a sham.
He ghost-wrote, or helped to write, a number of books wherein his own research and articles were quoted and referenced. Then, he turned around and used THOSE citations as references and footnotes in his OWN books. In short, he was a literary sock puppet.
The damage that he has done to history is immense. Now, every single one of his books, articles, monographs, etc, will have to be reviewed in contect of these findings. Years and years of Indian History, American Hostory, etc, will have to be reviewed to see how much of it’s conclusions were based upon Churchill’s works.
I hope he rots in hell, although Ward is the type of cretan that even Ol’Scratch would think twice about inviting down.
Respects,
Good riddance to bad rubbish!
Indeed.
I hear he starts at UCSD on Monday.
Casca, always harshing our mellow.
Casca,
That had me laughing. heheh
I heard they are giving him a year’s salary as a going away present.
CU, or as we called it back in the day, “The University of Moscow, Boulder” will never get a penny from this alumni, but the fact that he’s gone just made my declination to contribute slightly more time consuming. But I’m sure the young undergrads the university convinces to make said fund-raising calls are dancing on the Pearl Street Mall about now.
It’s just a shame that it took over 2 years to get rid of his sorry ass. Hopefully he’ll just fade into obscurity.
When does he start on The View? Sure, Rosie left some big shoes to fill, but…
Kris,
Unfortunately, I don’t think we’ve seen the last of butt-head. His attorneys announced several weeks ago that if he was terminated, they would bring suit against the school. Oh well, the University has pretty deep pockets…Bring it on!
Cap’n, et al,
Ward Churchill (fortunately NOT related to Winston Spencer) is worse than a sham. Not only did he make wildy abusive claims after 9/11, I really don’t think he ever held a real job. His ‘art’ is nothing more than a blatant rip-off of more established (and better) artists. His claims of Native American ancestry is specious and shameful at best.
Of course, he (and the ACLU) will bering suit against the university. Wrongful termination? Well, in academia, publish or perish is a way of life. Taking credit for others work and calling it yours is a sure way to the unemployment line.
So now, Act 2 of this sorry spectacle begins. A responsible adult would admit his errors, apologize and move along. Ward Churchill is neither and adult nor responsible.
Cap’n,
How much for a spelling, grammar and lexical checker for the site?
After reviewing my last, I’ll gladly contribute!
SeniorD -
I suspect the last 2 1/2 years have been spent by the university administration building an ACLU-proof case. That’s not to say that he won’t sue, but I do think it would be fruitless.
Guy – looks like you are right. Just found an update on Ward Churchill. His lawyer has already announced he will file a lawsuit in Denver today:
“”We’re out of kangaroo court and going into real court,” he (David Lane) said.”
The allegations – Churchill’s First Amendment rights have been violated.
“”We’re out of kangaroo court and going into real court,”
I predict he gets bounced out there pretty quickly. Plenty of people are hopping mad about this.
The Denver Post published some quotes from notable personages at the bottom of this article: http://www.denverpost.com/breakingnews/ci_6455486.
I think State Representative Cory Gardner really nailed it though.
Tellin’ it like it is.
Don’t let the door hit you where the good Lord split you.
He certainly has no ego problems. Heard him say on Special Report tonight, “I’m not going anywhere”. We’ll get to hear more about him than we’d like to, I’m afraid. Creep!
“Literary Sock Puppet”.
You slay me, Tim. May I Churchill, errr, plagerize that when needed?
