Darwin strikes again:
A 23-year old Serb was found dead and half-eaten in the bear cage of Belgrade Zoo at the weekend during the annual beer festival.
“There’s a good chance he was drunk…” zoo director Vuk Bojovic told Reuters.

Targets of Opportunityblog advertising is good for you Credo"Sign on, young man, and sail with me. The stature of our homeland is no more than the measure of ourselves. Our job is to keep her free. Our will is to keep the torch of freedom burning for all. To this solemn purpose we call on the young, the brave, the strong, and the free. Heed my call, Come to the sea. Come Sail with me." -- John Paul Jones "Pardon him, Theodotus; he is a barbarian, and thinks that the customs of his tribe and island are the laws of nature" --George Bernard Shaw, "Caesar and Cleopatra" "And those who were seen dancing were thought to be insane by those who could not hear the music."--Friedrich Nietzsche "A kind Providence has placed in our breasts a hatred of the unjust and cruel, in order that we may preserve ourselves from cruelty and injustice. They who bear cruelty, are accomplices in it. The pretended gentleness which excludes that charitable rancour, produces an indifference which is half an approbation. They never will love where they ought to love, who do not hate where they ought to hate."--Edmund Burke “You say that it is your custom to burn widows. Very well. We also have a custom: when men burn a woman alive, we tie a rope around their necks and we hang them. Build your funeral pyre; beside it, my carpenters will build a gallows. You may follow your custom. And then we will follow ours.”--General Sir Charles Napier "Μολὼν λαβέ" -- Leonidas "Blogito Ergo Sum" -- Neptunus Lex Amazon AssociateFor the Effort!Winnar!![]() Subscribe![]() CategoriesPagesTagsacademy

I tell ya…it relly bites being him…I know …I know… lame beyon belief so please be tolerant… and grin and bear it while I attempt to regain my bering. Best
“There’s a good chance he was drunk…”
Hmmm. Ya think?!
Long time lurker but I could not pass this one up.
I bet his last words were “Hey, Watch this.”
He should’ve worked with those of us, during our younger and wilder days, who spent their summers in Yellowstone Park.
He would have had the benefit of all of those signs. You know, the ones that say:
“DO NOT FEED THE BEARS”
…and here I thought they were talking about the bear. Being drunk. How else to handle Serb sushi?
-SJS
“Good chance he was drunk.” ???
Better odds are that he was eaten
If course, ***I*** have never done anything so stupid when I was inebriated. Not that the bears found out about, anyhow. There was this big ‘gator at UF, though . . .
Mike
I’m sure it was a grizzly scene…
Roachman, remarks like that are just too much to have to bear.
JTG, I’m confident you’ll bear down and ultimately bear up under the strain. Best
Well I couldn’t just leave it half finished. As though I’d bitten off more than I could chew…
Peter,
I never saw the DO NOT FEED THE BEARS sign in Yellowstone, but I did see a bear with a pork-pie hat on leaning against a sign and covering it.
Hey Boo Boo!
N
There’s a good chance who was drunk? The guy or the bear?
Dammit, Yankee Sailor, I was going to comment on how that was an insensitive thing to say about the bear!
