Sometimes you’ve just got to reflect on what’s really important:

Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton yesterday raised the prospect of a terror attack before next year’s election, warning that it could boost the GOP’s efforts to hold on to the White House.

He wept.

Maybe she’d be happier if Osama just put out a new audio tape instead then — like last time.

The Dems are definitely trying my patience. They seem to have no sense of greater purpose than the Party. It’s making me nuts.

I wish I could have a face-to-face alone with each one and try to talk some sense into them, but I think they are beyond reasoning with anymore. And I know I don’t have the patience required to be civil beyond “Hello.”

  • Hey Lex,

Apologize for the off topic thread. I came here to read the comments and accidentally hit a link offering me a graduate degree at some school I’ve never heard of. So I ask myself, does Lex get $.02 every time I hit one of those links?

If so I may do more browsing of your sponsors so that I can, you know, see what’s out there.

She’s just putting the word out to one of the Democrats’ main support groups (i.e., the Al Qaida terrorists in Iraq and elsewhere), using one of her and the terrorists’ best friends – the Mainstream Media, that if they will just cooperate by not attacking us for a while, a new administration might solve all their problems by raising the white flag.

The sad truth is that this is a completely believable theory.

  • Well of course, because 9/11 is the evil BushHitlerHalliburton’s fault…so of course they’d engineer another attack to ensure they continue their reich…

    Jesus Wept indeed.

Points to Hil for consistency in character and focus on her targets: GW & the GOP. She knows from bitter experience that she doesn’t need to propose any substantive solutions; only “demagogue” her opponents for the win.

Well said, Tom G. She’s gotta keep her eyes on the prize, no matter what the cost to the rest of us.

What SteveC said, also P-3W… who among us wouldn’t long for the chance to talk/shake some sense into her. Why can’t Dems take the broad view and care about our country? Why? They want the PRIZE… the Oval Office! That’s it, plain and simple.

Hillary is just asking AQ to hold off on any plans they have prior to November, ’08. Hey, Hillary… how about after the election! She’s named the game: getting elected.

The real question should be: hold off… period… or else! Wouldn’t the Democratic reaction be the same as the current administration? She’s admitting that it’s apparently NOT!

It would certainly be interesting if anyone in the MSM could ask her about that!

So, Hilary only thinks she is the best Democratic candidate to handle a terrorist attack. She won’t say she is the best overall candidate in the event of a terrorist attack. I kinda want a president with more self-confidence than that.

  • The irony, in my mind, is how she has gone so long making sure the GWoT had limited success, thereby emboldening the very terrorists of which she speaks about causing the precipitous event that will deny her the ability to rent out the Lincoln Bedroom for political contribution cash….

Kinda makes me wonder if she now sits up from a dead sleep at night realizing she has been championing the wrong cause for the last few years.

Please, captain, would you and the other fellows explain to me some new jargon I read on the military blogs, which may be apposite here: what’s a “four-wall counseling session?”

    Marianne Matthews

  • Marianne, I think you’re referring to something we refer to as “Wall to Wall” counseling.

This link is somewhat tongue in cheek…

Oh. My. Gosh. Mr. Pogue sir. I just finished reading the document you linked. Just wow! Fortunately, I realized [when reminded by you] that the document in question was composed at least partially ‘tongue in cheek.’ But it gave me a basic understanding of the term wall-to-wall counseling, and a view of the darker side of military discipline.

Not that I’m objecting to physical discipline, mind you. I have been reliably informed by fellow students in my early grade school classes that when they passed our house in their walk home every day, [every day, mind you] they heard me howling in outrage as I was spanked for some infraction or other. And look how well I turned out.

Thanks for the link, Pogue. I now have an even greater respect for warriors like you all.

  • SJS;

    Dum spiro spero, brother, DSS…

What does that mean then when I hold my breath?

  • You’re transitioning to the next level above hope – faith mayhaps? ;)
