Anybody can help?

Received this through the contact form:

I have been trying to find a way to send this to Bagram AFB Afghanistan but their web site is not accepting the email. Any ideas?

Thanks

Dick

To: Bagram AFB Afghanistan

I live in the USA and am a USAF veteran.

I have a woman friend from Scotland who is in Kabul assisting in setting up schools for Afghan kids (not my idea of a good career move).

She is working with a Canadian woman who has had a kidney stone/Gall bladder attack right now and they are in the Kabul hospital and they are sitting around trying to obtain services, in the terrible conditions there. People dying on the floor, wow.

Any chance the Canadian woman would qualify for emergency services at Bagram? If not, does Canada military have medical facilities she might be able to use?

Security for the women at the Kabul Hospital is not so good either, damn. They would have to obtain transportation.

What a horrible situation.

Thanks for any help or advice you can offer.

If anybody has got an idea, please PM me for contact data.

Update: Just got of the phone with Dick Wallace, and everything is moving in the right direction – his friends are being helo evac’d to the UAE for treatment. Thanks to everyone who got involved.

I don’t know if they’ve tried this already but there’s a Canadian Embassy in Kabul. The phone number on the website is listed as (011 93 (0) 799) 742-800.

send me the specific info and I will have my LNO in Bagram work it

  • Lex,

Second that on Dave’s comment. He’s in position to act if able. I have ctc info as well for him.

    v/r c.

  • I was in a similiar situation twenty years ago when I found out my sister was smuggling Bibles into China.

And Drew has it right. Call the Embassy.

But! Be Aware! My sister was Major Pissed at me for bringing her actions to the attention of the Embassy.

Grow up and be a man means letting people you love take the risks they choose to take. I found out later that not only was my sister taking Bibles into China, she was taking babies found in dumpsters out.

My alerting the Embasssy was a major problem for her.

Be careful what you wish for. You may get it.

I have spoken with the medical folks and there MAY be some possibilities.

Standing by to copy contact info … a Roshan number is the best means of communications.

Sent it via PM Dave, thanks for the offer. John Donovan is all over this as well, when he isn’t, you know: Lunching with the President.
