John Tom Clancy couldn’t have written a more exciting narrative:
IT was just after midnight when the 69th Squadron of Israeli F15Is crossed the Syrian coast-line. On the ground, Syria

Targets of Opportunityblog advertising is good for you Credo"Sign on, young man, and sail with me. The stature of our homeland is no more than the measure of ourselves. Our job is to keep her free. Our will is to keep the torch of freedom burning for all. To this solemn purpose we call on the young, the brave, the strong, and the free. Heed my call, Come to the sea. Come Sail with me." -- John Paul Jones "Pardon him, Theodotus; he is a barbarian, and thinks that the customs of his tribe and island are the laws of nature" --George Bernard Shaw, "Caesar and Cleopatra" "And those who were seen dancing were thought to be insane by those who could not hear the music."--Friedrich Nietzsche "A kind Providence has placed in our breasts a hatred of the unjust and cruel, in order that we may preserve ourselves from cruelty and injustice. They who bear cruelty, are accomplices in it. The pretended gentleness which excludes that charitable rancour, produces an indifference which is half an approbation. They never will love where they ought to love, who do not hate where they ought to hate."--Edmund Burke “You say that it is your custom to burn widows. Very well. We also have a custom: when men burn a woman alive, we tie a rope around their necks and we hang them. Build your funeral pyre; beside it, my carpenters will build a gallows. You may follow your custom. And then we will follow ours.”--General Sir Charles Napier "Μολὼν λαβέ" -- Leonidas "Blogito Ergo Sum" -- Neptunus Lex Amazon AssociateFor the Effort!Winnar!![]() Subscribe![]() CategoriesPagesTagsacademy

Fascinating. If nuclear goods were delivered by a N. Korean vessel I wonder how hard it would be to convertly inspect BEFORE it arrived. Undoubtedly, it would be much easier to interdict it in transit as well.
But your question as to “in whose interest is it to maintain secrecy” is fascinating as well.
If the North Koreans are tied up in this as the source, it certainly raises a lot of uncomfortable questions that could reverse the apparent progress on that front.
How could it be that every John, Dick and Harry is quiet on such a subject?
Sorry, I will try to smarten up and pay attention to the issues now. Honest.
John Clancy?
[...] has a commentary about the recently reported raid on Syria (about which I know little). Look at how he thinks about this strike. That said, the Israeli raid [...]
Reporters and newspapers NOT reporting things they know that might hurt their country’s national interests?? What’s wrong with those people?? That won’t happen in the good ‘ol U.S.A so long as we have the New York Slimes around. Nossir. Gotta tell it all, particularly if you can help the bad guys to shore up their defenses.
Way to go Israel!!!
John Clancy. Tom’s country cousin. maybe not as popular, but you know: good writer.
Yes, Mr. Chap, “John.” As in “John, Dick and Harry.” All part of this Secret Asian Man stuff.
Just saw a History/Hitler Channel show on the Osirak caper. Heroes, them plucky Israelis, with implications, stripping their F-16s down to “flying gas cans” and a wee bit of ordnance. Speaking of Hero and heroes, amazing how history changes on a dime. Rarely do we know which dime, yet a dime.
And to think that all this time I thought I was sitting in another room. All by myself. In the dark.
The lights are on, Ms. Michelle.
Of course it’s John Clancy, haven’t you ever seen ‘The Adventures of Buckaroo Banzai Across the 8th Dimension!”?
As far as taking out Iran, Sarkozy is talking tough, let them do it. I want to see HOW they think they could do it, then I’d want to see the world-wide reaction. We could just sit there with a serene countenance and observe the proceedings.

What’s amazing here is the startling silence of the rest of the Arab world. No demonstrations, no two-faced words of protest from Arab leaders, it’s nothing. Zip. Zilch. Zero.
Either the rest of the Arab world is starting to hate Syria, or they know the Syrians were up to no good….
Yankee Sailor,
That’s an interesting observation. Even the last possibility as described by Lex still should have had Islamic Rage Boy and the rest of his merry men out in the streets protesting the Israeli incursion into the sovereign territory of Syria. But nothing. Not a peep. It’s not even on the MSM, I had to search to find it in the IHT and Jerusalem Post. So, if it was nothing that they bombed, why aren’t they hollering? And if it was something they bombed, why isn’t it being reported?
If this were a Tom Clancy narrative Clark and Ding would’ve been among those out in the desert doing the bda.
I read another story this morning that a lot of the speculation about what’s going on hinges on a re-flagged NK freighter that recently paid a visit to Tartus. I wonder if now that NK is making nice, they’ve sold their program – lock, stock and barrel – to Syria?
Interesting post in the Jerusalem Post today.
something about Syrian and Iranian Missle accident with Sarin Nerve Gas… MSM won’t report it though…
