That was always the problem – never thought big enough.
A correspondent turns us on to the Muslim Brotherhood’s nefarious plan to take over the entire US of A:
Amid the mountain of evidence released in the Holy Land Foundation terrorism financing trial, the most provocative has turned out to be a handful of previously classified evidence detailing Islamist extremists’ ambitious plans for a U.S. takeover.
A knot of terrorism researchers say the memos and audiotapes, many translated from Arabic and containing detailed strategies by the international Islamist group the Muslim Brotherhood, are proof that extremists have long sought to replace the Constitution with Shariah, or Islamic law.
My corresponent adds:
I have referred in the past to a document acquired in a Swiss police raid known as “The Project,” which bears striking resemblance to Yusuf Qaradawi’s published work, leading some to speculate that Qaradawi, titular head of the Muslim Brotherhood, wrote the document. While MB activities in the USA have been in accordance with these well-known plans, it appears to be only now that anyone is paying attention to the fact that Da’wa has multiple facets, from preaching to terrorism and everywhere in between, and that there exists a broadly accepted and well-implemented plan to use the institutions and ideals of the West against it. This Dallas News site has a link to the court documents page, which is a bounty.
(T)he current war, the Fourth Great Jihad, is well under way, is well-funded thanks to our outrageous dependence on Saudi oil, and Iraq is only one battlefield. It is this larger war that is repeatedly overlooked in the boresight focus on Iraq, so much so that even if we “won” Iraq, we could still lose the war. From Japan and Korea, with their underreported Muslim terror problems, to the Tri-Border Area in South America, to our own self-ghettoizing immigrants, the fight’s on.
Well, credit where credit is due for grandiosity. Still, so long as our elite universities keep churning out great thinkers and so long as pop culture icons like Barry Manilow continue to write the songs (and man the barricades) that translate those elite thoughts for middlebrow guys like myself, hope continues to burn in the human breast.
It’s a candle in the darkness, like.

It is idle, he rebuked me, to talk about preventing the wreck of Western civilization. It is already a wreck from within. That is why we can hope to do little more now than snatch a fingernail of a saint from the rack or a handful of ashes from the faggots, and bury them secretly in a flowerpot against the day, ages hence, when a few men begin again to dare to believe that there was once something else, that something else is thinkable, and need some evidence of what it was, and the fortifying knowledge that there were those who, at the great nightfall, took loving thought to preserve the tokens of hope and truth. ~ Whittaker Chambers
There have been darker days. We may see them again.
Actually, they’re not hands-on evil geniuses…
Not making a joke outta this post but we still have internal forces to “protect” us:

Good points b2 – and seeing as Blackwater’s overseas license is in jeopardy…
Tom G-
Blackwater personnel ain’t Bubba. They’re effective pro’s..however since the despicable Fallujah incident in ‘04 I am sure they are rightfully “sharp-edged”.
I would be.

b2 – please relax – I’m pretty sure I served with folks currently in BW and I’ve worked with similar groups. They’re good guys, ok?
I wasn’t jumping on ya Tom. Other folks less knowledgeable about the company’s ops may have misconstrued your comment is all. Sorry.
re- The Folks @ BW
Having grown 400-500% over the past 6 years I’m sure the quality cut on the employees ain’t as high as it once was (re- spec op hires), but if the training is good and the equipment issued topnotch they are pro enough for Iraq.
