Pretty amazing vid of a pair of CH-53s on the deck in AF. Lamentable music track though.
Any lower and those kids could have gotten out and walked.

Our will is to keep the torch of freedom burning for all. To this solemn purpose we call on the young, the brave, the strong, and the free. Heed my call, Come to the sea. Geez, that looks like fun! That’s like flying an apartment below treetop level…
Yep…and they could provide Fred Flintstone brakes in an emergency, too!
lol, “Don’t touch me. I’m a grasshopper.” Surprisingly a green grasshopper.
That’s cool! A couple scenes it looked like one of them was chopping off some branches of trees along the little river there.
That music sounded like a poor-man’s cross between Iggy Pop & Lou Reed with some Electric Frankenstein tossed in for good measure. Catchy
Bad boys flyin low…
God bless em, a bunch of maniacs they are.
I’m guessing those are Luftwaffe CH53′s – I used to see them flying overhead when I was stationed in Augsburg.
Catchy, JPR? Catchy? I’m looking at the 3/8″ wood-boring bit in my drill press right now, thinking it may be the only possible way to get that song out of my head.
Ditto Babs-well put.
Very cool. Brings back some great not-so-distant (in comaparison to some readers)memories. Thanks Capt.!
Mute the sound on the video and play your own favorite song – works wonders.
Wow oh Wow – bad boys indeed; the world needs more bad boys with that kind of talent put to excellent use.
I am overjoyed that the Jungs can put my taxmoney to some good use.
Didn’t I see that sort of flying in one of the Rambo movies? The one where he blew up the HIND with the explosive arrowhead? That was all kinds of awesome, too.
Max-
I never meant catchy in a good way…
Just like when we were inserting SOG recon teams in Vietnam. There were more trees in Vietnam
. Flying low-level is always a high adrenaline rush and one heck of a thrill. No time to think, just react. Fight like you train, train like you fight.
