Speechless

We need a new combination of words that raises the shopworn expression “beyond parody” to an exponential factor of oh, say. Ten. At least. Because those krazy dKos kidz?

They just keep giving:

I know I’m a Jewish lesbian and he’d probably have me killed. But still, the guy speaks some blunt truths about the Bush Administration that make me swoon…

I want to be very clear. There are certainly many things about Ahmadinejad that I abhor ‚Äî locking up dissidents, executing of gay folks, denying the fact of the Holocaust, potentially adding another dangerous nuclear power to the world and, in general, stifling democracy. Even still, I can‚Äôt help but be turned on by his frank rhetoric calling out the horrors of the Bush Administration and, for that matter, generations of US foreign policy preceding…

It striking when a leader with an abysmal human rights record is the one championing the rights of the poor and oppressed to the president of the United States who proclaims to be the world‚Äôs savior. Dangerous, indeed — certainly to the status quo he critiques.

Monday, when Ahmadinejad speaks at Columbia University in New York, I’ll be listening. Maybe with a bottle of wine and some soft music playing in the background. If I can get past the fact that, as a Jewish lesbian, he’d probably have me killed, I’ll try to listen for some truth.

Wow.

  • When we debriefed from the SERE field exercise the OIC of the school opened with words to the effect of, “I wish every week we could start out by shooting one of you just to get your attention…” I know how he felt.

UN – BEE – Lieveable! Is there something in the water in New York City that causes self-confessed, self-conscious Jewish lesbians to lose what is left of their tiny little minds?

I’m a pretty much of a libertarian about people’s rights to make their own mistakes. Lord knows, I’ve made enough of my own. But this Bush Derangement Syndrome is causing such a deep fracture between the grown-ups in this country and Those Others that I’m wondering if the country will even be able to function as a republic after 2008. Very depressing.

Listen, folks. Bush won’t be president after the next election. Then who will you dump all this excess hatred upon?

  • No different than the ones who moaned orgiastic pleasures over the likes of Che, Bobby Seals, Abbie Hoffman, Ho, Josef Stalin, etc., ad nauseum. The world in general, and it seems, certain Burroughs in NYC, have plenty of полезные идиоты to spare…

This is not the first time I have heard this argument…

  • Well, there is the old saw that in spite of his faults, under Mussolini at least the trains ran on time. There is also the saying that even a stopped clock is correct twice a day. This, however, is taking that “always look on the bright side” attitude just a little beyond what might be considered rational. “Sure, he’d have me killed, but he thinks Bush hasn’t helped the poor. So he’s got that going for him. Which is nice.”

She’s probably young enough she’ll be responsible for funding the Social Security part of my retirement. I’m doomed.

  • Stop the world. I want to get off. God help us all.

    MaxDamage,

“Under Mussolini …” is that really an Italian saying? I only know it in a certain German context.

Allthough – and I hope I do not hurt any Iranian feelings -, I really doubt his countryman will say something similar for Mr. Ahmadinejad in some years time …

  • Ok, I’m no hunk, but I think I’d find it somewhat, uh, deflating to learn that I’m sexually attractive/arousing to a lesbian. I’d just have to wonder what it is she sees in me…

    Just sayin’ is all.

And today, all over the world, members of the US military went to work to protect her right to be a clueless ninny.

Is there any point at all in arguing after the first sentence?

The ovens of Auschwitz are mute testimony to the awful truth, but if her Oriental heartthrob Dinnerjacket sez it never, ever happened, then it must be OK –right?

She’d rather swoon in the throes of BDS than prevent her own doom. How precious. The hell of the perpetually self-absorbed would be a punishment limited to their own minds, if they didn’t insist on dragging the rest of the world along to perdition with them.

Stay out of the way lady –the grown-ups are going to be busy for a while…

    An overheard phone call. 1935…

“Oh yes, that nice Mr. Hitler. He’s simply charming, isn’t he? Well of course I’ve read his book, but who really means those things? Yes, yes… terrible things to write, but of course he’s just saying what he needed to in order to get elected! All politicians are like that. I’m sure he’s just what Germany and Europe needs at the moment. A man with a plan who knows how to get things done.”

    pause in conversation…

“No, it’s not at all like that. Listen to me, will you? Just for once listen. I know what I’m talking about! I’m telling you, just wait and you’ll see. In ten years, you won’t be able to recognise Germany!”

  • butch

Strong the BDS is, in this one.

But I’m no longer surprised by this sh!t.

  • …I can’t help but be turned on by his frank rhetoric…

The mind reels…I wonder how she’d feel if it was describing the “frank rhetoric” of Hitler or Osama?

As Marianne said in the comments above:

Bush won’t be president after the next election. Then who will you dump all this excess hatred upon?

Who indeed? If another commenter in a different post in these parts is right, if – horror – a Democrat is put in the White House next, will they be blameless of everything? And what if a Republican is in the White House? Will we have to find another phrase to replace Bush Derangement Syndrome?

That blogger who blenderizes puppies had a link to another blogger in 2004, a flaming queer (second blogger’s own self-description), who had an epiphany of astonishing clarity. The freaks of the left would throw him to the wolves of Sharia in a heartbeat, no doubt about it. This queer knew the only candidate who would actually vigorously defend his civil liberties, starting with life and the pursuit of, was President Bush. That queer was much, much smarter than this one.

  • Marianne: Someone asked a day or two ago why you don’t have your own blog. I’d like to resurrect that question and add my encouragement:

“If you write it, they will come.”

I’d LOVE…absolutely LOVE… to read of your experiences. Please consider it; it ain’t hard to do. At all. And you have such a wise and unique voice.

B.D.S. syndrome is a stronger disease that even overcomes the human instinct of self-preservation….Even sheep have more common-sense!

  • The hatred will not go away when Bush leaves office–because the real target of the hate is American society (and, I suspect, in many cases the parents of the haters.) President Bush is just a proxy.

I second Buck’s comment Mrs Matthews, Please start your own blog!
