Dillon Precision, the folks who supply reloading equipment to target shooters everywhere, have a spin-off company Dillon Aero that builds these things. They are most impressive.

Lex? You should consider this as a job opportunity. How many people get paid to fly aircraft over Nevada scrub while the gunner runs 10k rounds through a minigun? *And* you get to write it all off as a business expense!

Marianne, you're exactly right - it is a Gatling gun powered by an electric motor instead of a hand crank. General Electric dusted it off with the Vulcan 20mm canon for aircraft in the '50's (still in use) and they just keep finding new ways to use it. They have an awesome sound, although the only movie I've ever seen that recorded it right was "Blackhawk Down."

To this old civilian editor type, the barrel of that weapon resembles a classic Gatling gun. Would one of you warriors explain why I'm wrong, please. I'm always up for learning something new.
Just got back from the firing range ... my first chance to fire our new house gun. Our hands are now so arthritic that we can no longer use our pump shotgun, as we discovered to our dismay last month. We went to a gun store and tried out every type of shotgun and they were all too heavy for me and even my 82 year old husband had trouble. So we bought a handgun, a Taurus 'The Judge' revolver, with a 6 1/2" barrel, which can shoot either .410 shotgun shells or .45 bullets. It's almost like a shotgun on a pistol frame, and the long barrel gives it more stability and accuracy, we think. Anyway, I did good, my friends. It felt comfortable to fire, and I stayed within the #5 section of the target, both with the bullets and with the shotgun shells. The gun instructor was impressed by the gun's handling, and said that it felt comfortable to him as well. So if you know any 79 year old ladies who need a house gun for protection, I recommend it.
