In his new autobiography, Clarence Thomas writes about bigots. Turns out he’s known a few:
“I’d grown up fearing the lynch mobs of the Ku Klux Klan; as an adult I was starting to wonder if I’d been afraid of the wrong white people all along ‚Äî where I was being pursued not by bigots in white robes, but by left-wing zealots draped in flowing sanctimony,” he wrote in his book…
No justice in modern American history has been subjected to such vitriolic personal attacks as Clarence Thomas. Many liberal blacks view him with anger or disgust and consider him a traitor to his race, suggesting he is doing the bidding of white conservatives seeking to undo a generation of progress on civil rights. He been portrayed as a lawn jockey, a ‘house slave,” and repeatedly called an “Uncle Tom,” including by prominent black officials.
Many white liberals, on the other hand, view him with disdain, questioning his intellect and qualifications ‚Äî questions, incidentally, that aren’t typically raised about Thomas by blacks. Even when presented with hard documentary evidence ‚Äî memos and notes taken by Justice Harry Blackmun ‚Äî that Thomas has been independent of Justice Antonin Scalia from the beginning and has influenced the Court in a number of areas, many white liberals refuse to acknowledge it.
But the left-wing types were being racist for good reasons. See?
It all has to do with intent.

That was an amazing interview he gave on 60 minutes last night. I’m buying the book.
What a story. What an American story.

The road to Hell is paved with good intentions. Well, in this case, just intentions.
It’s actually ill-will dressed in the sheeps-clothing of good intentions. They tried to Bork him, and he played the race card right back on them, just desserts. Yes, his story is certainly a must read.
Thanks. I had not heard of this book before. It is now on my Amazon “to buy” list. I found you via Proteinwisdom.

*This* cracker would be happy to sit at the feet of that Nigra and have him instruct me on the Law and the Constitution.
(All four of my great-grandfathers served honorably against the United States of America in the Lincoln War.)
Saw the “60 Minutes” piece and heard the 90 minute session with Limbaugh today. Justice Thomas is most certainly one of the most inspirational Americans I have ever heard of, and a role model for every American youth today (and a bunch of immature adults too!). If he were in the service, he would (or should) have ended up wearing well deserved stars!
The mere fact that he was targeted for personal destruction by the left was, and remains an outrage.
Oh, that we had millions more citizens with the morals, intellect, judgement, restraint, knowledge and humility of this fine Gentleman.
