Targets of Opportunityblog advertising is good for you Credo"Sign on, young man, and sail with me. The stature of our homeland is no more than the measure of ourselves. Our job is to keep her free. Our will is to keep the torch of freedom burning for all. To this solemn purpose we call on the young, the brave, the strong, and the free. Heed my call, Come to the sea. Come Sail with me." -- John Paul Jones "Pardon him, Theodotus; he is a barbarian, and thinks that the customs of his tribe and island are the laws of nature" --George Bernard Shaw, "Caesar and Cleopatra" "And those who were seen dancing were thought to be insane by those who could not hear the music."--Friedrich Nietzsche "A kind Providence has placed in our breasts a hatred of the unjust and cruel, in order that we may preserve ourselves from cruelty and injustice. They who bear cruelty, are accomplices in it. The pretended gentleness which excludes that charitable rancour, produces an indifference which is half an approbation. They never will love where they ought to love, who do not hate where they ought to hate."--Edmund Burke “You say that it is your custom to burn widows. Very well. We also have a custom: when men burn a woman alive, we tie a rope around their necks and we hang them. Build your funeral pyre; beside it, my carpenters will build a gallows. You may follow your custom. And then we will follow ours.”--General Sir Charles Napier "Μολὼν λαβέ" -- Leonidas "Blogito Ergo Sum" -- Neptunus Lex Amazon AssociateFor the Effort!Winnar!![]() Subscribe![]() CategoriesPagesTagsacademy

Loyal partisan Betty (I know nothing) Currie lives about 10 miles from me in (BION) Hollywood, MD. She musta saved up quite a bit for that riverfront property….Every four years or so local Dims trot her out where she demonizes any Repub running (last time M. Steele) and fondly remincses about the Clinton WH…
Gee. I almost feel like a political insider. LOL.
Black & white cat? I’ll look for it. We all know how Billy lost “Buddy”, poor dog.

Weird, I’d have though Bill would have liked to keep a little pussy around the house…
sorry. couldn’t help myself on that one.
Poor Socks — never allowed to be a family member. Just a political tool, discarded when no longer needed. Poor baby. Hope some NICE family adopted him after his long ordeal.

If she’d have stuffed it in a gunny sack, and heaved it into the Potomac, I might feel a little closer to her.
Casca, are you talking about Socks or Bill?

I have met the former first cat while in the White House. It was a troublesome and not a friendly cat. It also drove the Secret Service guys absolutely nuts.
[And no B2 and 'Snakie', before you guys can snidely comment, Socks and I are not even remotely related. ]
Fliterman, you expected a cat to bow down and adhere to your sense of What A Cat Should Be?
That’s not the way cats work.
You see, 3000 years ago the Egyptians worshiped cats as gods. Cats have not forgotten this.

Marine6, I think Casca meant Hillary.
He’s just too subtle, that’s all.
I think it is a good thing that the Clintons gave Socks to a third party. We all know that Buddy committed suicide…
Could be worse. Socks stayed loyal. Had Socks went for a tell all book deal Socks could have ended up like Buddy or Vince Foster.
The Clintons only did anything if it could pay off politically.
When they did this when they left the WH, I wondered what kind of people they were to abandon their daughter’s cat. Of course, we knew then and we know now.
Oh well. Hopefully she’ll have a public political meltdown before the elections. Dems seem to like to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory a lot.
Flit,
I ain’t a lover o’cats but the animals ain’t part of the story here…friendly or not…
rather, it’s the character of the folks involved- almost “cat-like”. LOL.

I wonder… You know how the White House traditionally pardons the Thanksgiving turkey and sends it to some non-working farm in upstate New York? I wonder…
There’s gotta be *money* in ranching cats. Tell ‘em I’ll give their cat the wild and free life on the range that nature promised as their birthright and they in that surburban tract house were unable to provide, promise plenty of room to roam and other cats to socialize with, even a change of seasons to let their fur naturally thicken and thin… Why, there’s gotta be *somebody* stupid enough to fall for it!
Right. I’m off to make up some brochures. Think Hillary would like to amend this black spot on her record for several easy installments in the six-figure range? You know, for the continued upkeep of the poor dear feline?

[...] The Game Fairy wrote an interesting post today onHere’s a quick excerptLooking forward to watching the “War Room” wheel into action on this one. I suspect it will turn out that Socks was trailer trash, a cat subborned for an hundred dollar bill by a couple of vast, right wing tomcats. That she ran away. … [...]
