The article did not disclose whether said Brits were the infectors or infectees, or if they paid for said privelege.

My question is why only 20%. Mustnotta been their Navy, eh?

  • Lee

Lex, the Patriots Team shots are the ones I told you about. Funny that I’d look at this this morning (I usually only look from work), because the Team Owner is coming to visit my dad today.

  • ManlyDad

Wow. GREAT photos. I guess I’m glad the Blues didn’t abandon ‘Frisco after all. Spectacular background, and I’m betting that even some of the antagonistic citizens were supporters for a time there. Go Navy!

  • Why, Lex, a pun that vile is almost beneath you. Almost.

  • Jake

A pal once asked me if I’d ever been “abroad.”

I replied, “No, but I have been overseas…”

    Regards,

Jake (never met a pun I didn’t like)

Good Lord, lex, those ‘plane pron’ pictures are gorgeous and unbelievable! What a display of disciplined brilliance. Jaw dropping. I’ve sailed in San Francisco Bay [once] and if that plane had flown above us, it would have dismasted us, as well as permanently destroyed our hearing. But if he’d avoided us, ohmygoodness, what a once-in-a-lifetime thrill!

B2, thank you so much for the photos. Absolutely fantastic!

Ya-shudda been there, I tell ya.
And as Babs says, thanky-much, B2.

  • Great plan pr0n. Always a pleasure.

OT – so is what we’ve been seeing lately Lex Light?

The last time I was in SF for Fleet Week was ’02, I am thinking I will have to schedule a visit to the ‘rents next Oct.

who are Fry’s and what are those planes?

How do shockwaves, soundwaves, bend light?
    Amazing deing caught on film.

  • I had to read the post twice to figure out what “Aguy” meant. Nice.

    Dan;

Fry’s is an SF Bay area electronics retailer that’s expanded to Southern California, Texas, seven other states.

Good place to go if you know exactly what you want; the floor staff is notorious for not always being particularly helpful.

    Schreck,

They bend light because changes in air density affects its refractive index; how much it can bend light. Which is caused by changes in the speed of light through the air.

Mirages are caused by the same effect, the change in air density being caused in that case by temperature changes as air gets closer to or farther from a heated surface.

The close up of the shockwave spike effects around the tail section of the Hornet is just about the neatest thing I’ve seen in a very long time.

To add on to what steveH said, Frys is the sponsor, and one of the Fry Brothers is the next door neighbor to the Patriots Team Owner. They live in a nice little burg called Discovery Bay…
The Patriots are a private civillian aerobatic flying team based out of the Byron Airport in California. The airplanes come from a prior Soviet Bloc state.

    Thanks, I get it now.

WOW! Great stuff- my neck is sore and my ears hurt just from looking at them.
I just hope that none of the happy onlookers were from the easily offended class who so vocally objected to the presence of the evil military in their fair_ city.

Those have got to be the best Blues pictures I’ve ever seen–definite “don’t try this at home” stuff.

  • Subsunk

Wow. Great plane pr0n. That camera is amazing to be able to get those shots.

    Well done.

I’m sorry, but I’m looking at the initial posting and that whole 1 in 5 statistic? None of them have had sex with me. Which, of course, means the validity of this study is questionable. Research has to be duplicated, after all. That’s the scientific method.

I thus humbly submit myself as a control in this study. Any respondents willing to sacrifice for science are encouraged to repeat their actions.

Of course, I’ll log data points and chart a few graphs and make my data available to others. That’s the kind of guy I am.

You know, sacrificing for science and all.

    Any volunteers?

    Bueller? Bueller? Bueller?

Ya know, some people take all the fun out of experimental repeatability.

    – Max
