The Gratitude Campaign

Ever wondered how to say “Thank You” in American Sign Language?

The Gratitude Campaign can not only show you how, but why. And when, if you’re so inclined.

Spread the word.

I was in Hartsfield Airport in Atlanta a few months back when a company of soldiers returning home marched through the concourse on the way to their ground transportation. The entire baggage claim area stopped, turned to the soldiers and started clapping. It didn’t stop until the last soldier had passed. Who says Southern Hospitality is dead?

Might be nice to hear that the soldiers are being told of this particular bit of American Sign Language. Kind of difficult to make your point in a language the recipient doesn’t understand.

  • It’s a shame, though, that the sign being demonstrated in the Gratitude Campaign more closely resembles the ASL sign for “confess” than it does the ASL for “thank you.”
