This can’t hurt

Too soon to break out the champagne and ticker tape, but this has to be good news:

One of Al Qaeda’s senior theologians is calling on his followers to end their military jihad and saying the attacks of September 11, 2001, were a “catastrophe for all Muslims.”

In a serialized manifesto written from prison in Egypt, Sayyed Imam al-Sharif is blasting Osama bin Laden for deceiving the Taliban leader, Mullah Omar, and for insulting the Prophet Muhammad by comparing the September 11 attacks to the early raids of the Ansar warriors. The lapsed jihadist even calls for the formation of a special Islamic court to try Osama bin Laden and his old comrade Ayman al-Zawahri.

The disclosures from Mr. Sharif, also known as Dr. Fadl and Abd al-Qadir ibn Abd al-Aziz, have already opened a rift at the highest levels of Al Qaeda.

Preach it, brother.

I’m sure all of the Egyptians are going… tut, tut, tut!

Why isn’t this BIG news?A huge opportunity for our press to play this for all we can squeeze out of their (radical) Islamic necks. The media is a front of the war they always cash in on and we seem to always ignore. It gives the silent majority of Islam a person to rally around and say, “SEE, we are smarter than we look in those rags wrapped around our head”.

We don’t ignore it, the MSM is just not going to play the game to help our side. Wouldn’t be objective, you know. Journalistic ethics and all that. Tut, tut, we have to be objective, after all we aren’t really sure who is in the right here.

And if you believe that baloney that they try to sell, I’ve got some Florida swampland I’d love to sell you.

You are absolutely right, though. This is a major propaganda coups! But we cannot take advantage of it because the press has another objective. And I hope you know what it is.

  • I do wonder at his supposed conversion, since he authored previous “manifestos” that have served as templates for modern jihad. Why the change of heart? Could he be making a bid for early release from his undiclosed prison?

As long as they never let him out – but let his new writings get out – that’s not a bad thing. But yes, too bad the MSM once again ignores an opportunity to do some good with their perceived power.
