This just in, Neal Boortz has a nice feature on this taken from blackfive.net on his website. Boortz is, according to Talkers magazine, #7 when it comes to AM talk show hosts nationwide. I expect that nationwide exposure it not going to please the targeted rectal orifice.

While I applaud the efforts to smear Mr. Grodner's name through the excrement it so richly deserves, I offer two caveats:

Be careful of relying too much on Citizens for Legal Responsibility. The accuracy of the information contained in that site may not be of the greatest quality.

If Sgt. McNulty needs legal help in Chicago, there are a number of Veterans Groups and or lawyer organizations which are available to provide logistical or legal assistance for situations like the one he faces.

Let's hope I can avoid a Grodner.

Surely Grodner rises to noun status as well? Oh, the possibilities....

"Don't be such a Grodner."
"That woman has a Grodner-toe!"

The SGT handled himself with the dignity and self assurance of a U.S. Marine and things hopefully will work out for the young man. Semper Fi.

Furthermore, it is also apparent that the State’s Attorney’s Office has decided to take this matter on a much more serious level.

Indeed they should. Making threats to a military person during a time of war is just, well, idiotic. And I like how Max indicates the Marines will handle it. Public smear campaign within the letter of the law.

Too bad the, ahem, lawyer himself didn't get that nuance.

I have met a few decent lawyers in my time. Well, I wouldn't mind inviting them to dinner anyway.

This guy? I'm trying to think of some way he could become a benefit to society. Some manner in which he could redeem himself. So far the only words coming to mind are "reactor shielding."

This guy is in for a tough life. He's screwing over a Marine who's deploying for duty, right next to Naval Station Great Lakes, with a Marine Reserve detachment in close proximity. To top it off, neither of these groups are going to resort to pithy violence or property damage either. Nope, too smart. They're going to hit him legally. Make his name known around town. Hurt him professionally.

Fire up the Betamax and break out the popcorn, folks -- there's entertainment for the whole family about to happen here.
