Hell of a way to lose a man:
Navy officials are investigating the death of 22 year-old Navy SEAL Petty Officer 2nd Class Alexander Ghane Jr. of Las Vegas, NV…
Wednesday afternoon, the San Diego based SEAL was killed by a single bullet during close-quarter combat that used live rounds. By all accounts, a death of a Navy SEAL during live-fire training is rare…
(Commnder Mark) Blackson says the 22-year-old died while clearing rooms in a shoot-house. The seal was given on-site medical care, but died after being airlifted to a hospital in Memphis.

Didn’t this happen a few years ago as well?
Jeff,
It’s my understanding that this is an unavoidable risk due to the nature of the training, but still one that is not tolerated. I read Richard Marcinko’s memoirs, and he talked about a similar incident when he was building Seal Team 6. He had the Seal who shot his swim buddy out of the Team the next day.
Ex quocumque facere poteris te sauciabit, nihilo comprehenso-
Anything you can do can get you shot, including nothing.
