Psychoanalysis

It has often been said that it is perilous to attempt to psychoanalyze the Clintons.

Dr. Sanity – a former NASA psychiatrist – wades right in anyway.

Far too often, narcissistically flawed individuals are hopelessly attracted by the grandiose opportunities of the political arena (as well as the Hollywood arena) like moths to a flame. Their sense of self is starkly invested in the desire for power over others (always, of course, “for their own good”) , constant admiration and adulation and grandiose ambitions. This makes them remarkably adept at what is called the “politics of personal destruction”.

Certainly, both sides of the political aisle suffer from excesses of narcissism. But I think it is reasonable to predict that we will see no “Mitt-Romney-for-the-good-of-the-party” moment from Hillary, when and if she is eclipsed by Barack.

You know, she may be on to something.

The Clintons have always been about the Clintons, never about friends, party, or God forbid, our Country.

Amoral and utterly lacking in integrity do our good Clintons be.

Not much of a revelation here.

good thing she’s not an A7 pilot.

  • The Clintons define narcissism to a finite degree. Indeed, they have perfected it to a new level.

This is not meant as a compliment. The worst thing that could happen to this country right now (or at any other time) would be to put the top banana in the narcissism department into the most powerful position in the world. And I submit that will ole Billy Jeff put a new spin on narcissism, Shrillary will make him look like sandbox play.

    Way to go Lex…

If any of your readers are afflicted by the malaise of ennui or the need to explore the outer limits of absurdity for a chuckle or two, your recommendation of Dr. Sanity and her merry band is perfect. Just press the magic U Tube button.

Her scholarship is renowned for her grasp of psychiatric literature. If you are in need of enlightenment of “narcissistic core”, “narcissistic rage”, and of course that ever beloved heavy hitter “sociopathic selfishness”, all applied to Hillary Clinton, by all means go to Dr. Sanity’s blue links. Nary a definition under the blue links, nor reference to some other luminary, just Dr. Sanity once again, engaged in one more rant about this or that seriously deranged person.

Go to the references in the Wiki article on Narcissistic Personality Disorder to start your exploration of Dr. Sanity’s own megalomania.

Turns out that a while back, our very own Erika Anderson was beating this drum, based not on her own expertise, but that of “respected political analyst Bay Buchanon.” The impartiality of these two ladies is legendary, on par with their ability to interprete and diagnose psychiatric symptoms.

Is there a English Major in the crowed? Is sociopathic selfishness an oxymoron or just a near miss?

I need some help with the following premisses:

Once you call a participant nuts, you no longer have to discuss the issues they may raise.

If you call somebody crazy, that is no indication of the stability of your own mental health.

Is there away to couple them into a pithy statement that would help political discourse in this blog?

OP, take two aspirin and say something airily reductive/dismissive about The Boy Pretender and you’ll be right as rain in the morning.

Oh, and please leave your credit card information with the nice lady by the door.

Arrogance. When you see it, look around for stupidity. The two are the two sides of the same coin.
The Clintons come with sacks full. And, I don’t need a psychiatrist to explain to me, evil.
Oh, and keep an eye on the kid. The nut doesn’t fall far from the bush. Nepotism anyone?
Maybe it’s time for two fingers of Black Jack. Gee, ya think?

    Lex:

The House Engineer has been warning me for years that rum would sooner or later rot my brain. I have been banking on the “later” part of that recurrent threat, but it may be already be catching up…

I got a bad headache trying to track down who “The Boy Pretender” might be. I finally gave up, took the two aspirins and tried to give my credit card to the nice lady at the door. Not a good deal, she handed me a snow shovel and pointed to the door. How did you know it was snowing in Rochester?

My secrete desire was that you would test my link to to Dr. Sanity’s merry band (The Sanity Squad). And as Hope spring eternal, the dreadful sequence would be initiated: You would play the video that expounds on the pure evil of the BBC news service, and, you would succumb to some archetypical carnal desire, and plug into the BBC, and you would fine peace and serenity in the interview of Supreme Court Justice Anthony Scalia.

Not being able to find out who exactly this mythical Boy Pretender might be, I cannot complete your latest home work assignment. Is there any chance I could substitute Justice Scalia for the “Boy Pretender”? His clear contempt for European jurisprudence, and testosterone ladened approval of torture and capital punishment might prove to be a fit topic for an “airily reductive/dismissive” post.

Somebody help me out, I may have to turn to rum to calm my nerves, is Dr. Sanity’s lovely epigrammatical line “sociopathic selfishness” an oxymoron or flight of fancy?
