What we know: Barack Obama is willing to throw the Reverend Jeremiah Wright under the bus after the latter proved to be not only a political liability, but a persistent distractor whose inconvenient utterances threaten to derail the Change Train.
What we don’t know: Whether, having won the hearts of the ink-stained wretches in the MSM with his like, totally epochal speech on race last month – but having failed to win the hearts of bitter, God-’n-gun clinging Pennsylvania trailer trash haters earlier this month – the Chicago politician engineered the latest Wright-down in order to create his own “Sistah Souljah” moment.
What we have to consider before leaping to a conclusion: How Wright’s moderately sensible interview on the nuances of his faith journey with Bill “Utterly banish all of this verklempt God talk from the public square” Moyers last week fits in with the aforementioned manufactory.
Unless: That was all a part of the plan to make the Sistah Souljah moment seem plausible.
In which case: Obama is an inordinately clever beast, Columbia and Harvard degrees notwithstanding.
Or else: Lex needs to ease a few turns off the tinfoil hat winch.
Which, by the way: Check out the circular firing squad (and ritual denunciations) going on with the “Wedding Tackle = Identity, like forever” crowd.
It is to laugh.
I tell you–sometimes I think Obama is a better actor than George Clooney–but I damn Obama with faint praise. The sense of sorrow and surprise at today’s press conference that his old buddy had turned against him! Him! By God, the Reverend Wright had disrespected Him !–plus, and as an aside, had disrespected the campaign–was palpable.
Look the Obamessiah is either the 11th Iman, a Moron or a Fraud–or some combination of all three. I can’t believe that he sat in the pews of Trinity United Church of Christ in Chicago and heard none of this spew in 20 years. If that’s true, he’s not smart enough to be President, and if he did, he’s lying to us. Dupe or duplicitous, he’s disqualified.
And as the good Reverend Wright has informed us, Barack is “just another politician”–he’s not the Obamessiah.

Circular-firing squad, there is still a chance to be missed. It reminds me more of calling danger-close, then adjusting and calling for fire for effect on your own foxhole.

It has been said upon the streets today that the peron who set up the Wright appearance at the Press Club is a big-time Clinto backer. Machiavelli must be envious.
Seriously, though, I have no doubt that both the Obamanator and the Wright Brother are working hand-in-hand with all this kerfluffle. I mean, Wright has his security detail from the Nation of Islam, fer heaven’s sake, and that must’ve been right interesting in the church with the secret service and the Nation if Islam being all side-by-side, etc.
Ah well. the fun will be starting soon enough. HRH has started to smile and look all comfy like, and that HAS to be sending shivers down the spines of anyone NOT on her side. It means she’s definately up to something.
Add to that the “recreate ’68″ mob about to show up for the Sim’s convention, and TV ratings might well go through the roof.
Personally, I think that Dean is trying to recreate ’68, as in 1868, for the Dims. He certainly has the talent and the environment to have everything self-destruct, and that right soon.

I’m with AW1…tin foil hat not needed. I think the two are doing just like Wright said: I’m a preacher, he’s apolitician. That means (to me), JW knows he has to play OSCAR for now, but…I’m sure a Williamson is planned for the dark of night to go back down the track for recovery, out of sight.
Also, the way BhO stuttered and stammered through his denunciation, I can’t believe he had any passion beneath his words. For example…watch the GWB vid here to see how when talks when they “get it.” BhO had none of that. Toastmasters taught me the “um” is a mental pause, as you search for what to say next. He was certainly pausing lots and lots.
It’s a show for the masses. Trouble is, some will not get the word to play along and the stories, oh, the stories that are bound to come out in the next few days…
So let me spell this out, just to make sure I’ve got it right.
Wright says:
America and Al Queda are moral equivalents.
America intentionally infected blacks with AIDS.
America is intentionally selling drugs to blacks so we can jail them.
Obama replies:
He’s like family, I can’t just ditch this guy.
Skip forward 2 weeks
Wright says:
Obama is a typical politician.
Obama replies:
I’m outraged.
All it was was a bunch of rants that aren’t grounded in truth…
It seems to me as a bitter American clinging to my guns and religion that maybe… just possibly the two replies by Obama should have been reversed.
Talk about conspiracy theories. I don’t give Obama that much credit-though if he and Wright did put this together -well like I said, it presumes a level of smartness I’m not ready to grant yet.
I think that unlike the current commander in chief- Obama tries real hard to maintain a level tone in his speeches. So the fact that he did not froth at the mouth like some prominent Republicans should not hold much water IMHO.
Interesting. At 8:10am EST the top story in the “currently on memeorandum” box to the right on Lex’s page says “Obama’s break with ex-pastor sets sharp shift in tone”. Even though it’s a NYT article, I took a look. Mostly spin, but I found a couple of things fascinating:

Indeed, no need to adjust that tinfoil hat. Obama himself is keeping it in the news, directly and indirectly. The question is, to what gain for Obama? I get what it is for Wright – a national stage to launch a post-pastor career ala Sharpton. But what’s in it for Obama? It’s a serious thorn in his campaign.
Much as I can stand her, HRH must be rubbing her hands together and chortling about whatever it is she is planning next. I like that image.
But what’s in it for Obama?
The hope is that we will be sick and tired of hearing about it in October/November. Obama clearly bought all three of the Clintonesque Campaigning for Dummies series:

It’s working, too. I’ve been sick of it for weeks now, but that’s mostly because I couldn’t care less. I’m selfish about my pie – that’s reason enough for me to look elsewhere for a new Executive.

The Pied Piper, B. H. Obama, is playing his pipes and the Democrat Party and those of their Ilk are following him to the Promised Land. I’ve said elsewhere that he will do anything, say anything and shed anyone to grab the Brass Ring. The end result, like the Children’s Crusade which spawned the Pied Piper tale, the end result for those who believe him is Not Good.
All I can say is that he did the right thing! Poor old Granny must have been feeling lonely under that bus by herself.
